J&M Pawn Shop (Casa De Empeńo) — Local services in Perth Amboy

Had an emergency plumbing issue on Dec. 24th which was a Sunday and the plumber would only take cash to come out and fix. Frantically I googled pawn shops since I was short of cash due to holidays and came across several who claimed to be open. Only J & M was but closed soon. When I called, the Owner picked up and I said I was in need of their services but did not know if I could make it there on time, he said he would stay open for me. Not only did he keep to his word but was generally concerned after I explained need for some cash. I gave him some items and without hesitation he agreed to loan I needed. This is a Sunday, Christmas eve, absolutely amazing that a business owner would assist a customer period. Any jewelry needs I have in the future I will give them my business...

!! Not a pawn shop ! …. Only takes jewelry of solid gold or silver only ! Previous reviews state they take coins ? Which is not true… unless they are “gold or silver” … of which they take a whopping 35% thirty five percent!, possibly the lowest pay out in jersey? … and just a heads up…..regardless of the condition of items brought to them …. Whether it’s Brand new still in the original packaging, or went through the shredder…this shop offers scrap value… of only gold and silver bullion… I fell sorry for people that fall victim to this shop …. I have only pawned items once before and unfortunately needed to again. I decided to try this shop and I am glad I did. The owner was very nice & professional. I also received more then I had at a “bigger name” shop. I will definitely be using this shop from now on for my short term loan needs.
