Ace Hardware — Local services in Petal

I give this location high remarks because I have been frequenting their location for nearly a decade. More so now since I bought a house. They have an extensive plumbing supply, different from the Lowes a few miles away. They both don't stock the same items. I usually find Ace has a fitting that Lowes did not. The customer service is unparalleled: I wish every retail establishment was so good. There is no comparison. If I was to say that they were friendly would be misinformation. They are like neighbors, they are family. They are knowledgeable in home repair, right up to some industrial stuff. Many contractors working on your house get parts from them. If you are new to home repair, you can usually find a good answer/ recommendation from them, even if it is their competition. In this store, all the employees are like family to each other, and will treat you the same. The cost is a little bit higher than a big box store, but you dont have to walk and football field to get what you want, and there is always someone there to help you, you dont have to look for them.

And they have great annual and semi annual flowers when in season.

I know, this review sounds like I work for them. In truth, I used to deliver their mail, and I shop with them.

I love the selection of wind chimes they had, but they did seem like they had been sitting on the shelf for quite some time. I think they should put some of the older ones on sale, so they can restock their shelves with more updated models. Obviously, over time, the strings deteriorate. However, they were giving away free pansies, some broccoli, and some cauliflower plants, which my father was interested in. The Petal Ace Hardware has a very knowledgeable and friendly staff. They also have a really diversified inventory. One of the big plusses to shopping Ace over the larger stores is the combination of their staff & inventory, because you can go in, get immediate help, go get exactly what you came for & be gone again, faster than you could get to the right aisle in a big box store. The only negative aspect is that Ace"s prices are much higher than those box stores, so you know that that convenience & service cost...
