Yamato Steakhouse — Restaurant in Petal

The food was phenomenal. I had the filet and shrimp, along with the 3 rolls for $9.99. Walked out with a bill around $20, enough food for later, and barely able to breathe. The shrimp were cooked perfectly, popped in your mouth. The filet was tender and right at medium (which I normally like rare, but forgot to ask). Certain places I just don't do special requests because the cooks know what they are doing, this will be one of them. Miso soup was flavorful, unlike many Japanese restaurants around this area.

Beyond that, the service was excellent. I forget her name (Dee dee or something), but it was a young girl with dirty blonde hair. She almost checked on me too much, but you cannot really complain about that. She was so good I had to call and let the owners know when I got home, and I rarely ever even consider doing that.

I rate it a ZERO! It was bland and they would not substitute a bowl of soup and salad for noodles. Ordered side of noodles which was bland and the salad was nothing but iceberg lettuce. They need to know the definition of a salad! Salad A salad is a dish consisting of mixed ingredients, frequently vegetables. The Chinese restaurant by best buy and Super Kings is better than this by 100% and cheaper! Even though they call themselves Japanese, they have same food at Super King just more variety and taste better that includes their Sushi...

I would order from here a lottt and this is the first issue I have had so I wasn’t super upset but they completely ruined it. Placed an online order, got the food on my lunch break and after I got back to work I realized it was wrong. With no time to go back, I politely called up there and the woman who answered wanted to laugh at me and not offer to fix it or anything. Not sure what was funny but I definitely will not be returning. Absolutely ridiculous and I guess respect isn’t taught where...
