Unacceptable. 1/2/18- I had the thermostat replaced on a 2005 Malibu Maxx. 97 dollars. I could have done it myself in an hour (thermostat is $20 at Auto Zone), but it is freezing here in Petal, and I have Raynaud's Syndrome in my hands and feet. The manager then asked if I wanted the check engine light turned off, an extra 53 dollar charge. I said no, and the light turned off on it's own. 2 days later, this happened, see photo below, after driving 80 miles. The job was half done, 2 nuts left untighted, one bolt missing. I had to put it back together in 24 degree weather, add water, and drive 25 miles to a goodyear in Mobil, AL. They refilled it with coolant, bled the system, and tightened down what the Petal MS Goodyear had failed to tighten. It was covered under warranty, great. The problem is I needed to drive 12 hours today to reach my destination, and I've lost 3 hours. Now I will need to get a hotel room, which is more money out of my pocket. When I called them and spoke to the manager, he apologised, but insisted that a job half done was what the warranty was for. He asked me if I had ever made a mistake before, and insisted that he had never had a problem with his mechanic. He shushed me, and when I said excuse me, he hung up on me. I was treated poorly, spent 77 dollars more than the part cost to save my hands, and ended up painfully working for an hour in the cold anyway. Thank you for wasting my time and my money. Read moreWas told my vehicle needed a new engine. Bought a new engine from them. Still having issues was told it was Transmission. Found out from transmission people it is the engine. Now they are saying it is electrical and was told my vehicle has “always” had an electrical issues. (I don’t think I needed a new engine) Was told they could fix it, now they don’t want to work on it. I was told they don’t do that kind of work and also told they did so they clearly don’t want to do business with me anymore . They said they could send it someone who can. They sent it to the WRONG PLACE! They can’t keep employees- manager wants to argue with you and say they aren’t making money but they set the price every time it has been taken in. It’s an inconvenience for them to now get it to the correct place because they are short staffed. Mechanic hung up on me. Just totally unprofessional. Just because they are not skilled enough to diagnose and repair the problem does not justify unprofessional behavior on all levels. They have been paid for every bill that was pushed across the counter so profits should not be part of a conversation with a customer…. EVER. They will get a 1 star because I never had issues with tires, brakes or oil changes. Read moreBE WARNED. THIS IS AN EXTREMELY DECEPTIVE AUTO CENTER. I have a 55 year old lady friend whose car was making brake noise. She had me pick her up at this place after she dropped her car to be looked at. An hour later she gets a call from them telling her she needed 650.00 in brake repair. I said no way. I took her back there and I walked to the car on the lift. No wear to rotors at all. I told her I'd fix it. After I repaired it, all it needed was rear brake pads, a 70.00 job. This place tried to rob an unsuspecting elderly woman for parts and service she DID NOT NEED.
I've been working on autos for over 45 years. I know a disreputable and dishonest garage and this place is worse than dishonest.
I took a truck there for front alignment. They charged me 88.00 and sent me down the road with the alignment worse than when I took it in. Then they lied in my face telling me my adjustments were maxed out. I got home and they weren't even moved from center position.
