Fuji Japanese Express — Restaurant in Petal

It came a good snow and most places were closed because of it. But! This place was open and it is amazing! Best hibachi I ever had, and the prices are fair. Their sauces are not your standard sauces. Their pink sauce has an oniony distinctness and I love it! And the stuff they put on your hibachi looks like soy, but it's really more of a cross between soy and oyster sauce/eel sauce.

Get the steak and shrimp.

If I rated the hibachi spots in Petal, I'd give Yamato a strong 7/10 mainly for being a classic go-to restaurant for sushi.

But Fuji currently gets a solid 9/10 for great hibachi, competitive sushi combo prices, and the endurance to stay open during a winter storm! Because hibachi is a great winter meal.

I'm pretty surprised at the overall rating of this restaurant. This place is not for the true sushi lover but for the 'California roll' kind of people.

I got the Supreme Salmon and never have I seen a thinner slice of salmon on a roll. I couldn't even taste it. The inside of the roll was supposed to be salmon and avocado and while technically, they were both there - in addition there was a filler 'crunchy' that way out measured the other ingredients. Lots of filler, little small amount of fish. I don't eat to get full, I eat for the flavor. It just wasn't there. The service is awesome here!!!!! The Owner Mr Leo really takes care of his customers and he cares about the quality service given at his restaurant!!!!! If your ever in Petal please go on over to Fuji you won't regret it. They have the Best sushi in Hattiesburg/Petal area. The sushi is made fresh to order and is super delicious! I will return this weekend and also bring some family with me so we can all enjoy the delicious food being served!!!!!
