I'm so glad I found Star Beauty :) My hair has been falling out due to telogen effluvium. I got a short haircut to help with regrowth and the frustration of constantly losing hair. But I immediately missed my long, curly hair and was really upset that I cut it. I know nothing about wigs or wearing hair, so I needed a friendly store where I could ask some questions. I searched on Google reviews and found some great reviews for Star Beauty's friendliness and helpfulness.
Despite being pretty busy I was helped very quickly, my questions were answered, and I got a lot of great tips on how to care for the wigs and what works best to keep them on. Even though I don't know much about wigs, I also appreciated that all of the answers were honest. Sometimes stores will say whatever they think you want to hear just to get you to buy something - nope, here they'll tell you the truth, and I really value that.
You can buy a wig cap for $1 and then try on up to 4 wigs. I also was able to get some clip in hair extensions that are very close to my natural color. Everything was much more affordable than I expected. I even had other customers giving me tips and feedback. I felt really supported and I really needed that.
Read moreBefore coming to Star Beauty, I had looked literally everywhere for a color match to make my hair fuller for my wedding. Apparently it’s a rare color between dirty blonde and light brown, like a honey color. Can’t even hardly find it online. I walked into Star Beauty on a whim. Tiffany was immediately welcoming, with a positive attitude, and had the best customer service. She asked me questions to get a good understanding of what I wanted and how I planned to style it. I told her I was doing Viking braids (due to my heritage). Then she color matched exactly what I was looking for, verified length, and helped me decide between a few options based on what I planned on doing with it. She even sat me down at the beauty counter to show me how to install the hair.
I do costuming throughout the year. So I will definitely be...
Read moreI don’t find nearly as many of the products as I used to here and those I do find are almost twice as much as you find anywhere else. I bought the Cantu twist and lock gel for $10 and found myself running into H-E-B for baby milk and noticed it was Only $6.50 at regular price and in the same quantity. I thought about taking the product back to the store and asking for a refund but instead I’ll just let that be my last trip to this beauty supply other than that the store is clean, well organized and the staff is nice but unfortunately I don’t appreciate being overcharged for my hair products. It’s a shame but that’s a pretty big price jump, and I found the same to be true of another item on my receipt. Well, I understand every business Is trying to make money I still expect fair and competitive pricing. Farewell...
