Absolutely overpriced! Poor service. We came to Tate's looking for a furniture set we found on their website. They did not have it but they do have a large showroom with many options. We found a single bed frame in the back which looked to be in the "clearance section." There was no other pieces to match the set. They just had the bed frame. The "regular price" was listed as $1,999. Their sale price was listed as $1,399. We really liked the bed frame and would have bought it cash, however, we looked it up online and found online prices to be VASTLY different and MUCH cheaper. I tried to negotiate since the salesman said this was the only model left and they would be selling us the floor model. He said he could only come off $50. So, $1350 for a bed frame only. No set included nor even available. The prices I found online were sub 1,000 ranging around 900 for bed frame only. I asked to speak with the manager and he basically told me the cheapest he saw online was 1250. I told him I'd be willing to buy it now but not willing to pay more than $1000. He told me I should go buy elsewhere. I will. Thanks.
I understand a Buisness has to profit, but not scamming people then being rude on top of that. I left 2 stars because they do have a large selection and there appeared to be a few pieces of furniture that seem to be good deals. I would recommend looking at online prices before making a purchase. Also, ask what brand the furniture is because none of them...
Read moreJust wanted to speak my mind on this place. So with me being in the military I wanted some good quality furniture that would last til I at least retire in 6 more years. I went into tates thinking it was a good place to shop. Oh boy was I wrong not even 6 months after I bought this couch, loveseat and recliner it started squeaking horribly. I called them to explain what was going on with our furniture. Long story short they came and grabbed it, supposedly fixed it and brought it back. They brought it back worse than when they took it. So we decided to go talk to Mr Tate himself. First off this man has no customer service to his customers. We tried to explain what was going on with our stuff and he gave us this spill on he was the one that fixed our stuff and he was doing us a favor blah blah blah. Bottom line it was not worth our time to go down there and try to even talk to that dude cause he was disrespectful and didn't care what we had to say. I would strongly recommend to stay clear of this place especially if...
Read moreReview for Tate Furniture
I recently called Tate Furniture to purchase a power lift chair for my uncle, who lives in the area. Since I live out of state, I thought it would be a simple process to order and arrange delivery. Unfortunately, I was told they do not sell products over the phone or online.
While I understand the value of in-person shopping for some, it’s disappointing that a business in this day and age doesn’t offer remote purchasing options, especially for those looking to support local stores from afar. It’s 2024—online and phone transactions are standard practices for customer convenience. I hope Tate Furniture modernizes its approach soon to meet the needs of a wider range of customers. Until then, I’ll have to...
