My dad wanted me to order him a decent system for his car. I ordered an aftermarket head unit, all replacement speakers, Cerwin Vegas in the doors and in the back dash, and I ordered the accompanying amp for those speakers, and a low profile subwoofer for under the seat. I told my dad I would hook it up for him. But he didnt want me to have to mess with it. So he took it to advanced audio in Philadelphia, Ms. They quoted him a price to install everything. Like 700-800 dollars. I told him I thought that was pretty expensive. But I guess it's supposed to be "professional". He wanted me to go with him to talk to the guys and tell them what I had in mind about what I got to install for him. Almost as soon as my dad said something about that, the guy rudely interrupted him and didnt want to hear anything. And then the advanced audio guy asked why I got the amplifier with the speakers I ordered. He said the more power you put to it, it will start to distort. ( I already added up the watts from the head unit and the watts from the amplifier and it was going to be an almost perfect match to power those speaker.) My dad wanted a good system not just a replacement head unit and speakers. The guy told my dad he didnt need the amplifier. But he would install everything for 700-800 dollars. Or he would install everything except the amplifier for about $500. So with the "professional" telling him this, he decided to wait on hooking up the amp. We left and came back after they were finished. I looked under the hood and was shocked at what I saw coming from "professional installers". A bright orange power wire was ran all willy nilly with a single zip tie over the inline fuse holder attaching it to a tube. It then ran straight through the fire wall without any kind of rubber grommet to protect the wire. Just laying on a sharp metal edge. The xm antenna was ran down the windshield which is alright but then they kinked the antenna wire around the metal of the fender and ran the wire through the door jam. The low profile sub was just placed under the seat without any anchors holding it in place. You know some velcro or something. The wires were just bunch up and not together neatly and secured. This is not an install you would consider "Professional". It was more like you took it to the neighbors 14 year old down the road and they did it in...

So far no issues with the work and I’ve heard good things about their work holding up. Eventually I will probably take another...
