Came here August 4th during the three o’clock hour to place in an order for ear drops at the pharmacy after leaving Penn’s ER. I was informed by the pharmacy tech(black woman)that the medication would be ready in thirty minutes, she would work on the medication, and I could wait in the waiting area. Most of the pharmacy staff are black women, the pharmacist is white, and another pharmacy tech was a white man.
I am waiting and I notice it is near 4pm and people who came in after me received their medications quickly. I left the waiting area and was standing near the cashier area to see if my name was called. The pharmacy tech(white man) saw that I needed help and asked even though I said no to him. He was very helpful and wanted to ensure that I was okay. He said to me again, I can help you, what do you need? I informed him I was waiting a while for my medicine. I told him my name and in less than five seconds he looked for my name and grabbed my medicine.
I overheard another pharmacy tech(black woman), say: “Oh I forgot she was sitting out there”. Truly unprofessional, disgusting, and unacceptable. Even when the pharmacy tech grabbed my medication and asked another pharmacy tech(black woman), a question in regards to my medication, she was not paying attention and did not answer the question. He had an angry look on his face and I could tell there is no proper handoff and/or communication in the pharmacy department. The pharmacy tech who helped me, decided to explain my medication and asked if I had any questions since the other pharmacy tech was not listening. I told him thank you for actually helping me and to have a great day.
I make a complaint with the pharmacist over the phone to redirect the staff on their behavior. She apologized, and stated that during the time I came, the pharmacy was really busy which lead to lack of prompt follow up. I informed her I will switch to another pharmacy even closer to me who gives better service. Disgusting experience and I have decided to not use them as a...
Read moreThis is the most unprofessional pharmacy I've ever been to. Seven days ago on Monday, I came in with my prescription and asked to put an order for Vyvanse 20 mg. A man behind a distant counter said "Okay, I'll put that order in for you". I call back Wednesday later to check on the status of the order and it was never put in. Over the phone, I asked the pharmacy employee to please put in the order. She said that she'll do that and it should be in by Friday or the upcoming Monday. It is now Monday and I call back to check the status of the order. It was never put in, AGAIN! A substitute manager tells me that the actual manager who puts in the order is on vacation, so I can't put in my order until next week. She also proceeded to tell me that I was supposed to hand my prescription in when I requested the order. What?! So essentially, I'm speaking to employees who don't follow protocol, don't know what the protocol is, and lie to my face. Why is medication I need for my psychological health treated so carelessly? The fact that this happened twice by two different employees is proof that they are hiring incompetent people and this is a result of poor training and management. This really makes me wonder what other mistakes they...
Read moreI came in for a vaccine appointment on Sunday, September 28th at 12:45 PM and had the most unsettling experience I’ve ever had at a CVS. The pharmacist (Asian male, 30s) didn’t greet me, just asked “two vaccines?” then sterilized my arm very aggressively and without gloves. When I said “that’s a little rough,” he ignored me completely—no eye contact, no response.
He rushed through everything, jabbed the first shot with zero care, and gave the second unusually close to my armpit where the skin is thinner and more sensitive. It felt careless at best, malicious at worst. By then I was already so uncomfortable.
To top it off, the store had a funky odor, which for obvious reasons didn’t help.
I don’t know if this was racism, a bad day, or just poor care—but no one handling needles should treat patients this way. After years of positive vaccine experiences at CVS, this visit made me reconsider ever returning to CVS at all.
CVS, when you see this: please take action. I’d like to know how to file a formal complaint so this doesn’t...
