I booked the car via Priceline, went to the counter on Wednesday to pick the car up, from that point in everything went downhill.
Got to the car, found the exterior to be in Fair shape at best, dings and dents all over the car, interior of the car had crumbs still in the passenger seat, the pillar where the drivers seatbelt is located was literally falling off, had to push it back on multiple times
Drove the car from the lot to my destination which was 200 miles away, I rented a Tesla with Hertz in Los Angeles back on Labor Day weekend and everything was perfect, this time after driving that far I realized I wasn't given the charging adapter to use non Tesla superchargers, put me in a really bad place where I was forced to make multiple trips to a town and an hour away to charge the car.
Then the Saturday after Thanksgiving my family tested positive for covid, our plans went from flying back home, to just wanting to change the drop off to Orlando airport so we didn't have to fly with covid. After multiple calls to Hertz corporate and Priceline I was told they couldn't change the drop off location, they told me I would have to call the location that I picked the car up from, which I tried to do several times only for it to say line was busy and never go through. I then drove the car to Philadelphia airport Hertz location (original pick-up location) proceed to go inside wearing a N95 mask, told the person behind the counter to stay back because I had covid and I was just simply trying to change the destination on the rental car and then I'd leave and get back into the car and be on my way, well she called her manager, which proceeded to come up to me (I stepped outside so I wasn't inside that long with covid) when she came up to me she literally yelled at me and said now I'm charging you a detail fee because I have to sanitize the car because of covid (which I think is ridiculous) than told me it was a $500 fee to change the car drop off, to which I told her I could just rent another Tesla via Priceline and not be charged that $500 fee. She than proceeded to the car where my wife and 3 year old son were trying to remove our stuff from the car and she came over and yelled as loud as possible "back up, this is a COVID car, all while there were a ton of customers around, to me that was beyond acceptable, she didn't have the right to embarrass my family simply because we got sick.
I proceed to just walk away and rent a different car with budget which gave me no issues whatsoever. I enjoyed my Hertz rental in August in LA, but I'm definitely rethinking ever renting from Hertz again after how myself and my family were treated on...
Read moreThe customer service at this location was horrible. First, I signed up for pick up of my rental in the parking lot to avoid line ups at the desk. They were apparently having trouble with this service that day and had a very long line up of disgruntled people waiting to get their vehicles. I specifically asked to waive all extra charges such as gas refuel at $3, damage insurance, and roadside assistance. After returning the rental and arriving back home I received an email with an invoice for additional charges with every charge I waived on the receipt. The gas refuel charge I am ok with as I did waive the offer to refuel at a lower rate thinking I would have time to refuel the rental. However, ABSOLUTELY declined extra insurance as I have insurance coverage and roadside assistance. I called Hertz to discuss the mix up and was given a dispute number to which I received no call back or email. Upon follow up I was told by Hertz corporate office the Philadelphia location denied my request for a refund of insurance and roadside assistance stating I was shown the computer screen and signed the agreement. I was not shown the computer screen. The customer service agent verbally reiterated my requests to waive all extras and then I signed. Quite frankly, he was very busy telling me he would join me for a drink somewhere if he could. And had another customer prior to me upset for some error that was made (donât know if it was his fault or not but the customer was unhappy and the service did not seem to resolve her issue). They walked out saying they would never use Hertz again. It seems they got half my request correct and was happy to charge me the super inflated rate for gas refuel, which I am okay with as I waived ALL EXTRAS!!!! For some reason Hertz seems to believe their employee is incapable of a mistake and therefore not even willing to discuss with me how the matter went down. It is his word against mine as to whether I asked for the extra charges and was shown this computer screen. Last I checked good customer service tries to make the customer happy. Again, I am willing to pay the refuel charges that I waived but should not have to pay the insurance and roadside charges that I also waived!!! Since nobody will respond to me by email or phone after several calls to the corporate center and actual location I will leave a review of the extremely poor service I received. DO NOT USE THIS RENTAL LOCATION OR COMPANY!!!!
Somebody replied below and said they would get back to me. NOBODY DID!!! BAD BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! Literally robbed me of my money and wonât...

SCAM WARNING - HERTZ REPLIED BUT DID NOTHING TO HELP - USE AVIS OR ANY OTHER COMPANY - READ YOUR FULL RENTAL AGREEMENT - WILL BE CHARGED 9.99 PER DAY IF USING TURNPIKE
I am compelled to share a deeply concerning experience at the Hertz Rental Location at the Philadelphia International Airport, particularly given the severity of the safety issues I encountered with a vehicle rented through their Uber partnership.
My ordeal began when I noticed a screw in the tire, leading to low tire pressure. Expecting a routine exchange at the Philadelphia Airport location, I was instead met with a dismissive response. The staff, overwhelmed and unaccommodating, provided a voucher for a tire patch instead of a proper vehicle exchange (I did reserve a new vehicle online as well, I didnât just walk in asking for anything), disregarding the potential gravity of the issue.
The true extent of the negligence became shockingly clear at the mechanic's. My photos, attached with this review, starkly reveal the dire condition of the tire â riddled with multiple pieces of metal and severely worn down, indicating long-term neglect. Moreover, the mechanic discovered a dangerously unsecured tie rod â a crucial component of the vehicleâs suspension system, blatantly overlooked in any safety checks.
This level of carelessness in maintaining vehicle safety is appalling. I was unknowingly driving a vehicle that posed a serious risk to my life. The response from Hertz customer service was equally disappointing â unhelpful and dismissive of the severity of the situation. Adding insult to injury, I was charged for the rental week during which these hazards were uncovered.
My experience, supported by photographic evidence, raises alarming questions about the safety standards and customer care at this Hertz location. I strongly advise potential customers to reconsider renting from here, given the potential risks involved. The lack of basic vehicle maintenance and customer concern is not only disappointing but downright dangerous.
However, buy Bridgestone tires since they can bear multiple pieces of metal in them.
