The worst customer service experience possible. Booked a room days in advance and learned that even though I had a reservation there were no available rooms. The purpose of having a reservation is to place a room on hold for your stay, and no one else can be booked. I was never notified, and that’s common decency. When I talked with the front desk agent she had an attitude, didn’t explain the situation, and just wanted to go sit down in the office on the clock away from the customers. I had to also call the service line and get them to confirm the issue, instead of just canceling the reservation because surely I wouldn’t have been eligible for a refund. In addition because I had no notice from the hotel I lost time and money from a shared ride. It was filthy, and in disarray. Don’t decide to stay here or to do business with them you’ll regret it. Update: A generic response is pathetic. I have no faith in the management team because it’s clear that management is incompetent. A bottom line expectation is to honor bookings, this wasn’t a mistake or the staff missing the mark. It was a fundamental failure that indicates the management’s inability to facilitate the operations of a hotel. The reviews are consistent in sharing negative experiences, and accurately attest to why this hotel should have new management or be closed. The hotel also had a fire in one of the room recently so they had major water damage because the water sprinklers went off. There were shop fans blowing on the carpet, the entire first floor looked a messed. Finally read the signs, that was put up at the front desk because the staff didn’t want to interact with customers. “I do not have no rooms to move you to, if you are not please, we can give you a full refund” and “We have sold out all of our rooms even if you had a reservation”. It’s impossible to sell out of rooms when customers have already had reservations for said rooms. A lot of dysfunction is going on at this hotel.

DO NOT STAY HERE!!!! ABSOLUTELY FILTHY!!! The most disgusting hotel i've ever stepped foot in! I've stayed in dozens of hostels in 3rd world countries all across the world and not a single one of them was dirtier than this one. I was first assigned room 208. When I walked in, I immediately noticed dead cockroaches strewn across the whole floor. There were 10 roaches in total between the kitchen floor, bathroom floor and in the sink. I didn't even check the carpeted bed area. Who knows how many are hidden there. The kitchen area was also obviously not cleaned. The backsplash to the stove was all greasy with stains. It looked like the hot dog machine at a 7-11 if they didn't clean it for a whole year. I went down to the front desk to ask for a different room and was assigned 127. The room was cleaner with no dead cockroaches, but it smelled like wet dog in there and there was a dead cricket on the bed. I checked out 2 minutes after that telling the receptionist that I would not be staying and that I would like to check out due to the unsanitary conditions of their hotel. Since then, I am having an issue getting my money back from the management since apparently I wasn't checked out of their system that night. If you find yourself in a similar situation having an unexpected overnight stay near PHL, I would recommend sleeping on the floor of the airport over this place

I’ve traveled all over the country for the last decade and I’ve stayed in more hotels than I care to mention but this was by far the dirtiest hotel I’ve ever been in. Check in took forever and the people working the desk clearly didn’t want to be there. I got to my room and the entire place smelled like marijuana. There were animal traps all over the room, the carpet was falling apart, paint peeling off the walls, dirt and grime everywhere, the sheets clearly hadn’t been changed (see photo) and there was a dirty hair bonnet someone had left in the room just laying on the floor (see photo) - all signs the room hadn’t been cleaned. After about twenty minutes in the room I decided I simply couldn’t stay there. I went to the front desk who said I’d be refunded and left. Looking at my corporate charges this month and saw that I wasn’t refunded. Not only are the staff unfriendly, but they’re also dishonest. This place needs a massive overhaul in personnel and cleanliness. If I could give zero stars I would. Absolutely disgusting.

I really blame management for all the problems this hotel has! I had 2 rooms my whole stay there. Room 219 for my wife and I and room 229 for my daughter. They first room we went to, was was currently occupied by two roaches! So they gave us another room unfortunately I do not recall that room number. Neither one of the keys would for the rooms! This went on for a week, so every time one of us needed to get in a room someone from the front desk had to come open the room. Not just room 219 but also 229. Both rooms has a kitchenette covered in cakes up grease and a nasty smell from the old grease build up! I went to the store to purchase different cleaning products, supplies to clean with, a vacuum, mop with bucket and drain cleaner. Both room had dirty carpets, clogged sink in one, other had a clogged tub, both toilet seat were loose with dried up urine around the flops/fasteners for the toilet seats. The air vent wasn’t in the bathroom wasn’t working. Had to clean the filter area off the vacuum before finishing the first room because the amount of long strands of hair, dirt and dog fur in between the refrigerator and counter. That was just 229 SMH! When cleaning I wonder how that room had 2 roaches, when I saw about 18 spots of roach gel in just room 219, can’t recall the number of roach gel spots in room 229. Both AC worked fine but had mold around the vent and front cover! Each room had 2 windows, meaning there were 4 broken windows without screens! Even cut my finger trying to unlock the one of those windows! Got even better the front desk did not have bandaids or a first aid kit. All the windows were off track, so they did not close properly! Because of the off tracking, they were not able to open or stay open properly. The windowsills were starting to rot because of water damage because the windows were not closed properly. That went great with the unpainted patch up job on the walls. I got a few photos of the things but I was on a move to clean up both rooms!A few rooms in my hallway, same side as you walked down the hall you can see how the doors were too small for the frame! As you walked down the hall, you can look and see the ceiling of some rooms. I noticed this as I walked down to the trash storage room. There is a trash storage room at the end of each hall where I was told to put my trash because you’re not allowed to leave it in the hallway next to your room door. I understand why this should be done this way but when you get to the rooms, both are locked meaning, I had to leave the trash in the hallway in front of the door. The laundry facility in the building is a insult! I can’t recall the price but the front desk let you know if you pay to wash or dry and the machine takes your money. They are not responsible in any shape or form. So of their Washers & Dryers may work or may not work But either way the risk is 100% on you. If you are in the parking lot and you wanna come in from the outside door directly to the hallway or stairwell, the keypads that are outside does not work. When you put your card in, it doesn’t even flash a light to indicate this power to any of the keypads outside. Also, they do not mop or sweep the stairwells. I use the same stairwell every morning to leave seeing the same food wrappers, crumbs and tiny pieces of trash in the hallway.Upside no bed bugs!Comfortable mattress, despite the squeaking when I turn over! Checked in on Wednesday 6/11 and told to leave Monday 6/16. Why? Guess me addressing the issues with supervisor and the stuff (and I quote). “Many made uncomfortable, and I was starting to cause problems.” I never called corporate or talked to other guest! So not why they went they way because I was given corporate second day there and was told to address any problems/issue with the corporate office! Thanks for a horrible & disgusting experience! This was edited so it could fit but there is so much more to say. Sadly I can’t upload my photos for whatever reason! Going to assume they do not anyone to see how disgusting...

A Complete Nightmare From Start to Finish

I booked a two-night stay at this Extended Stay America (9000 Tinicum Blvd., Philadelphia) through Agoda. I received multiple confirmation emails, a valid confirmation ID, and even called the hotel around 4 PM while at the Miami airport to confirm my very late arrival—after midnight. I specifically asked the woman who answered if I would be able to check in late, and she pulled up my reservation by last name, confirmed it, and told me she was checking the schedule to make sure someone would be there to check me in. She assured me everything was fine.

When I arrived shortly after 1 AM, there was someone at the front desk—but they took over 20 minutes to even appear. Worse, the hotel claimed they had no record of my reservation, even after I showed them the confirmation in my Agoda app and explained the earlier phone call. I even got on the phone with Agoda customer service, who directly asked the hotel staff to honor my reservation. They refused.

At that point, it was nearly 4 AM, and I had no choice but to book a new reservation on the spot just to get a room. I paid $261 plus a $100 deposit—for a single night, despite already having prepaid $179 through Agoda for two nights. I made sure to confirm with the front desk staff that this new reservation covered the night of Wednesday, May 14, and that checkout would be 11 AM Thursday, May 15. He clearly told me yes, and that he was checking me in early for Wednesday, not charging me for Tuesday.

Thursday morning, before checking out, I spoke to the manager—who was dismissive, unhelpful, and frankly insulting. He said that the hotel system automatically cancels any reservations not checked in by midnight (despite the fact I called earlier specifically to prevent that). He then told me he couldn’t refund the early check-in fee unless he charged me pet fees for my two dogs—who are service animals, and therefore exempt from any such fees under the law.

He also claimed the front desk agent made a mistake, and that technically I was staying two nights and had already overstayed my reservation. In other words, rather than own up to their mistakes, he tried to tell me I was lucky not to be charged more. It was laughable. I had explicitly asked the front desk staff to confirm the dates, and he told me clearly that I was checking out on Thursday.

The room itself was terrible: • Musty smell • Clogged sink • Broken TV • Poor A/C • No housekeeping (you have to carry your dirty towels/sheets to the front desk to exchange) • Indifferent, lazy staff

Additionally, in my experience, especially when paying with credit card I normally receive deposit refunds same day as check out even though they always say it could take several days or up to 10 days to receive the refund for the deposit. I called my bank to see if there was any type of refund initiated. They told me they didn’t see anything and then I called the location to ask if they could just simply just look up and see whether the Deposit refund had been initiated And the Front Desk woman told me that only the manager could do that. Absurd, I wasn’t asking her to process a refund. I was just asking her to look up my reservation that I checked out for that day and see whether or not one had been initiated.

Luckily, Agoda refunded my $179 and even gave me an additional $89 for the trouble, which speaks volumes about who was in the wrong here. I’ve stayed at other Extended Stay America locations, including one in Brickell (Miami), and had great experiences. But this particular location is an absolute disaster and a stain on the brand.

Avoid it at all costs. I wouldn’t stay here again if...

My week ago stay: I'm going to start with check-in. One lady checking customers in. Three people in front of me and 5 people behind me. An old lady in her robe, house slippers and cap on her head sitting in a chair so close to us she kept hitting our luggage's as she kept crossing her legs. Front desk proceeds to apologize for the repairs being done as they had a fire in one of rooms. At this point, management should have called all of us, given us the option of still coming or help resolve this by helping us find a nearby hotel. This was definitely an unsafe environment! The ceiling with a huge whole in it on the first floor as I turned the corner was only the beginning of this disaster stay. I head up to 4th floor only to see about ten industrial fans near just about every door on that side, but not at my door or after. I head in to walk into the worst room I have ever stayed in. Curtain slightly hanging, chipped dresser with two drawers falling off, counter with cigarette burns, refrigerator so old, rusty and dirty, bathtub so dirty there was no way I was taking a shower in that. Not understanding why housekeeping thought it was okay to leave a plunger in that bathroom either. If I am able to upload some pictures I will! My thought was I was heading out for dinner and drinks so I wouldn't be in this room long and I would come back late enough to just sleep. Next morning this "continental" breakfast was a bagged breakfast!. Now I have stayed at hotels during Covid days and I'm not new to this bagged breakfast but we are passed those days. The hall was plastered with some sort of plastic saran wrap, with about five workers in a room knocking down walls. Again, unsafe as there was all of that flying in the air. I guess I found the room that had the fire and the housekeepers that I never saw in halls doing their jobs! I left a little early, picked up food, staying out all day again and returning late enough to only sleep. Although I booked room for two days, I cut my trip short due to bad storm that was brewing. I didn't want to drive back to NJ in it so I used this as my get out fast excuse and checked out a day early. At this point I didn't care! Front desk calls me the next day to ask how my stay was. Come on, you guys know I checked out early! No other hotel has ever called me personally and asked that! I didn't want to believe the reviews because not everyone tells the truth but here is another one they can add to those. I did not smell marijuana in the halls and I did get my $100 deposit back quickly unlike some reviewers have said . The deposit was funny too. What could anyone possibly damage in a room that has absolutely nothing in it! Like some reviews have said....DO...
