This aint it unless you live close by AND don’t mind having to change your routine almost everyday bc it’s always packed and the main reason is because the only other edge nearby is in Jersey. Oh and new years? I used to workout at blink, new years wasn’t so bad but here, it’s an absolute nightmare. Also parking is just the first part of the workout lol not to mention they can be kinda sneaky about details regarding the contracts. I read another comment from the gym mentioning a a plan with no contract? Well why wasn’t I offered this and why was I sweet talked into basically getting into a 2 year contract with no chance of backing out unless I provide medical proof, move away from edge or join military. They are very strict about their agreements and that’s partly my fault for not reading the fine print, so hopefully this saves some people the headache of signing up for the yearly contract. Another thing I’d like to mention is the fact that when I was given a tour, I was specifically told that NO MALES were allowed in the women’s section of the gym meanwhile, please explain to me why I see a male staff member exiting the female room about 3-4 weeks ago. I understand if there’s not enough staff but I know I see plenty of female staff and it’s the principle. Do not say something when it’s not 100% true.
All in all if you’re a dedicated lifter who likes having options, flexibility, and consistency then I would not recommend Edge. You’d be better off signing up for Planet fitness in all honesty and I am usually the one saying I would never sign up for planet fitness. I would recommend places like crunch, maybe la fitness, and also planet fitness. If you were one of the people from Blink before they closed down then DO NOT join this gym. You will most likely change your mind within the next month or two once you see what I mean, or maybe not.
Oh and also double check that prices stay the same if you do sign on the contract bc after reading the fine print, I noticed that my monthly payments are supposed to go from 40 to 50 after about 4-5 months which was not explained to me but since I signed the part that says “I understand” I’m basically screwed and cannot downgrade bc same rules apply to your contract. “Any changes cannot be made until your full term has been completed”. I’m suffering this headache now due to my own negligence so hopefully this saves someone else the trouble. They will also try to push their personal training sessions onto you which can be pretty pricey. If youre gonna pay this amount of money for a gym then you might as well go to Fusion, at least they have more local locations and WAY more accessibly and equipment. I am willing to support anyone who may have further questions or concerns regarding this review. It’s unfortunate that I have to leave this type of review but I’m noticing things the longer I stay here and I’ve been here for about 3-4 months now. Oh I don’t know if I mentioned this but you CANNOT DOWNGRADE your membership once signed on in a contract until you complete your term and god forbid you forget to cancel it prior to your final due date, you are stuck paying whatever they want for however long you agreed to so just be prepared. That’s all. All in all I made the mistake but Edge is no better with the way they operate and try to sign you on. For the amount of money I’m paying, I shouldn’t be having so many issues. ( I also forgot to mention when machines go broke, they tend to stay like that for about a month or two so best hope it’s not a...
Read moreThe positives: the gym is overall nice and equipment is in good condition.
The negatives: unfortunately, the sales representative manager Arianna was very dishonest about the pricing structure and what to expect. I initially called her and asked for pricing information. She stated that there was a special deal for $1 (which did not exist) and that in total, everything that I requested would cost around $35. I was thankful and came to the physical gym location to sign up for everything. When I met her in person, she stated that deal that was mentioned on the phone did not exist. I was initially understanding of a possible honest mistake and we moved forward. She explained the price structure and made multiple blatant mathematical mistakes. Every time I asked her to clarify something, the total sum would end up being different. After we finally came to an agreement, she requested my payment and contact information. After all of this was submitted, I get told that there is actually another fee that you have to pay every year. Mind you, I specifically and deliberately asked all of these questions on the phone. I was assured of one thing and then delivered a totally different final report. Arianna then proceeded to tell me that this yearly fee was charged at the 60 day point and that if I cancelled before then, I would not have to pay it. I asked her to confirm this and after actually reviewing the contract information together (to remind you, she is a manager of sales), she then proceeded to pretend to not see the actual term of 14 days until I pointed it out to her twice. At the end of this whole fiasco, I was extremely disappointed in how I was treated. I made sure to ask questions along every step of the way and confirm that what I was being told is true and around every corner, there were lies and predatory pricing tactics. The sales manager should never act this was towards customers. I understand getting people in the door, but this is frank dishonesty and should not be allowed!
Edit 5/10/25: I was ensured that when I needed to cancel, I would be able to come to Arianna and that she would cancel the membership for me. This turned out to be a lie and the only way to cancel is via email. I do not understand why I was not told this initially, especially after asking for confirmation. Arianna really is a deadweight for this organization and really needs some serious retraining or to move on. Nothing that she did actually helped...
