Our daughter in law, Che bought a new Volkswagen about 3 years ago from Tenneson Nissan in Tifton, Ga. with no problems at all. About three months ago, she started having major problems with it skipping, shaking, and overall running horrible. She made an appointment at the dealership, and took it in. Over $1000 later, she was devastated that a newer vehicle was already having that kind of problems. Despite this she was relieved it was fixed, or so she thought. She was driving home when the same issues started again. A few days later she was taking the car back. As she drove to the service department, a salesman basically threw himself on her car trying his sales pitch. He preyed on her aggravation with her car, and inquired about what was wrong with it. She explained, and immediately he began to entice her with trading her car in. The idea would solve many problems, and it would be for a newer one. She gave them her Volkswagen keys, and parked it where this salesman named “Smokey” told her to. After signing the paperwork she drove home in a nearly new Nissan. All was fine, til this week when she got a call from the bank that financed her Volkswagen. Apparently, this was a collection call asking for her two months of overdue payments. She informed them about the situation, and they explained they have no record of a payout on a trade in . So, Che called the dealership, and the entire day her call was passed from person to person. Tuesday, she went alone to Tenneson Nissan(Tifton), and spoke with Demarcus (DJ) thinking it was just a misunderstanding. The conversation quickly became antagonistic when DJ told her that “Smokey” was a “event traveling salesman “ that is not imployed, nor is he held accountable for anything at the dealership. According to the contract that she trusted to have the trade in information included on there was no record or mention of the agreed trade in the terms! DJ continued to tell her he didn’t know where her car was, nor was it his responsibility to look for it! She told him that she felt they scammed her, and her car was missing or stolen. So, DJ’s “kind” 🙄 remark was to throw up some air quotes, and said he guesses he will DO HER A FAVOR, and track down Smokey to find the car! His last snippy remark was they do not do verbal agreements. She left not knowing where the Volkswagen was, and feeling attacked and defeated. Wednesday they were still “searching” for it with apparently no luck and same excuse on Thursday. So on Friday, DJ calls and tells Che they found it with no other information. He only said she had to come pick it up. But, this time she wasn’t alone. This time I went with her. We went in and I spoke with upper management, and told them it was imperative that I speak with the owner Cory Tenneson. They told me it was not possible at that moment so I left my info, but also agreed to talk with a sales manager. She and I sat down, and I explained to her what happened. At first, she said she had no idea. However, she inquisitively asked Che if she was the one who did her closing for her. Che said yes she was, and the rep said she hadn’t even heard about any trade in at the time she finished the paperwork. I in turn asked if there was no trade in why was her keys taken, and where her car had been for the past two & half months! She had no idea, and admitted during their sales event it’s a “circus there.”She also admitted it was probably left in the same place it was parked. She was at an apparent loss, and has no idea what to do. I told her DJ called and told us we HAD to come get it, and she said their policy is no unauthorized vehicle is allowed on the lot after hours. That’s mighty funny that it’s been in the same spot with no questions for two months. She went looking for the car, and found it where it was left. Now strangely, the keys are missing. This makes three trips for nothing, and it’s...
Read moreFirst off I want to say that I have loved Nissan brand of cars. Only getting my cars from Nissan. But recently i bought a car from Nissan in Tenneson Georgia. At the time of purchase they were very nice. Offering cookies and coffee and taking me around to see cars. I was at the dealership for a whole 9 hours waiting for the dealership to look at my car which broke down in the middle of the road Friday(10/29) night. I was at the dealership the very next (Saturday) morning at 9am and did not leave until 6:30pm.
It took them from 9:30 to 2pm to finally tell me that they could not fix my car. By 2pm Everything was closed. There were no rental cars left. no uber no lyft drivers near by literally seemed like i was in the middle of nowhere.. I didn't have a way back to the hotel i was staying at so i decided to look for a car. They promised me that they would give me 200 dollars for the car if i buy a car that day.. Every car they showed me for the 30 minutes was in an accident of some sort. Then I asked them to take me to the cars that would cost around 15k because the cars that were around 10 thousand seemed like it was broken some how. So Sterling takes me to see the nissan sentra i had bought. He told me that there was no accidents on the car. So i looked around and saw it had scratches on it. I asked him he said i'll get you the car fax when we get back. (I never got the car fax even though i asked multiple times.)
So i decided that the car drove nicely and that it would be a good buy. After i got home and looked at the pricing they had almost charged me 2 times as much as that car is worth..
That isn't even the best part. The car has a broken seat belt.. that they refuse to fix.. the car also has a broken off part of a auxiliary stuck inside the port. I have been trying to settle this with the dealership since October 31 (2 days after i bought the car. Monday because they were closed on Sunday.) At first sterling picked up all nice and reassured me that they will take care of it. they will fix both for free. Now? no one picks up.. the dealership "drops" my calls and sterling doesn't pick up his cell phone even though he is always on his phone. Even while he was trying to sell me the car he was ALWAYS ON HIS PHONE! How unprofessional.. and watching football.. while i was sitting there. I brought the issue about the auxiliary port to Darrell the finance guy and he said that that should be covered in the warranty he had sold me. He reassured me that i could get it fixed here in Tampa. So if its covered why is it so damn hard for them to fix it for me? I am willing to drive 4 hours up to them and have them fix it since that is what they promised me. I have texts to prove the conversations. This experience has left a very.. VERY!!! bad taste in my mouth..
I've been very patient with the dealership with sterling but there is a limit to my patience. It has been 2 months of trying to get in contact with the dealership. Every time i call i ask for sterling and then i get disconnected or no voicemail is set up.. I cant even contact anyone.. If I didn't have Sterling's number i would have never heard back from them..
Now, i NEVER write reviews but this experience with the tenneson nissan has pissed me off to the point of spending my time to write this. I hope that shows just how upset i am with the dealership... All i wanted was a new safety belt and for them to fix my aux port so i can listen to my music.. THAT IS ALL!
choose wisely. Dont...
Read moreAs local HS teacher and coach, let me say that I am not wealthy by any stretch of the imagination. On May 15, 2020 I purchased a used Nissan Juke for my 17 year old son. He will be a senior in HS next year. That was a fairly good experience. However, it quickly turned into a nightmare. On June 10, 2020 I was called and told that the vehicle had to be turned in because it was traded in by its' previous owner under false pretenses. The previous owner wrote a fraudulent check when trading it in to get another vehicle. I failed to mention that I moved 3.5 hours away during this time. I agreed to return to Tifton on June 12, 2020 and meet my son and turn in the vehicle. I was told that he would get a comparable vehicle, and the terms of the purchase would be honored. On June 10th my son and his mother went to the lot just to look around and see what was available, they were approached and told to surrender the vehicle on the spot, that they could not drive off and return on the 12th like was previously discussed. So to avoid confrontation that is what was done. The next day on the 11th, they returned and were shown a car that was not comparable and was more expensive than the original. After they declined it, they salesman laughed and them and said "that's the best we can do", he then left because he had to go home and get some shoes that were being delivered to his door, and he said "I don't want them to just sit there". Later that day, we were all informed that the dealership was going to buy a comparable small SUV from another dealership and we could purchase it but it wasn't going to come with a warranty. My son and his mother were in the dealership for over 2 hours discussing why the vehicle was going to not come with a warranty and why it was more expensive. They were both crying when they left because multiple people in the dealership heard an exchange when them and the owner of the dealership in which he said "this is not OUR fault either, and we can't just give a car (warranty) away". Very unprofessional experience and goes to show that the customer ISN"T always right at Tenneson. I agreed to come down the next day, and just asked that all the paperwork be complete so that I could just sign and leave, because I disagreed with the entire experience since the Juke was surrendered prior to the agreed upon date. Needless to say, when I arrived on the 12th around 1245pm, I had to wait almost 2 hours before I was called back to the finance department to sign the papers. The only positive was salesman Keith Merrill. He sold me the Juke and was a pleasant and easy to deal with. He also got the credit for the second sell, and kept apologizing because it was taking so long, offered water and soda. A pleasant gentleman, who would get all my business, if I ever stepped foot back inside of Tenneson, WHICH I WILL NOT DO. I have a daughter who will be driving in a year, I will purchase her vehicle from a competitor of Tenneson...
