First impression on entering the hotel was very good. Hotel obviously quite new and this showed. Unfortunately it went downhill very quickly and never recovered. On arrival we were given two keys for our room and neither worked. Went back to reception and two replaced - neither worked again. Guy on desk brought machine to room lock as he said he suspected it was therefore the lock not the key. After 5 mins fiddling about he managed to open the door but not to get the keys working. He said he would try to get it fixed before we left! I said "before we next went out would be a better response"! We saw him doing same with other locks that evening and so you obviously have a problem but the guy was making guests feel that it was only their room affected. In truth not a disaster but we had had a long day and wanted to get in the room and not have a 15 min delay.
The major disaster was however the next morning when we had meetings to get to and we went to breakfast at 8am. We had to go straight back to room as a queue of 10+ people to the cramped food area and most food item displays were empty. As we had business meeting to attend, 20 mins later we had to try again if we were to eat anything at all. Unfortunately only marginally better, and still nowhere to sit down. Following bowls completely empty when we did manage to get into the food area; egg, porridge oats packets, bacon, sausage, boiled eggs, fruit salad, yoghurt. For hot food this left pancakes for which there was a queue of 8 people, and this was not what I wanted anyway. There wasn't even hot water for tea, although some did appear 5-10 mins later to be fair. We ended up having 2 bananas each and I went back to room and made myself some food that we had brought ourselves We then checked out at about 08:55 guy (now late for our meeting, and when I said to the guy at front desk that we thought that "breakfast was appalling" he just openly laughed in my face and thought is was funny that so many people were trying to get breakfast at same time. I then said that I did not think it was funny, and he laughed again and said "yes it was pretty busy wasn't it" and no apology at all. On the single plus side, the actual room was very well laid out and once inside the room it was a positive experience. It is a shame that such a nice building is being let down by VERY poor management. I can understand that breakfast can sometimes be busy, but there was no organisation of staff to ensure...
Read moreThis review could have easily been 5 stars, but it also could have been 1 star. Our stay was scheduled for June 2nd, 2017. We made the reservation for this stay on March 14th, 2017. Our reservation was for 3 rooms with King bed in each. We received the reservation confirmation via email. We also called the hotel on May 26th, 2017 to confirm the reservation. The day of our stay on the way down, we hit really bad traffic in Atlanta. This meant we were going to arrive at Fairfield Inn & Suites in Tifton around midnight. We called the hotel around 8:00 p.m. to let them know we'd be late and to, once again, confirm the reservation. We were told at that time that our reservation was for 4 rooms instead of 3. We informed the hotel clerk we only reserved 3 rooms as there were 3 couples traveling, and each couple would have their own room. The clerk said the mistake was corrected and advised we had 3 rooms waiting on us. Upon arrival after our 8 hour drive, we were told we only had 2 rooms (each with a King bed), every other room was booked, and all the other hotels in Tifton were at capacity. It's an unfortunate inconvenience if one has to double up in a hotel room when not planning on it, but it's a travesty when 6 people (after traveling all day) are supposed to find a way to sleep in only 2 beds. We had no other option as it was so late and there were no other rooms available (we checked). EVERYTHING else about the hotel was great. Comfortable bed, clean room, very quiet (even with every room full), clean towels, etc. As I mentioned before, this could easily be a 1 star review. The reason it isn't is because of the front desk clerk working when we arrived and the one working the following morning. Despite the horrible news that 33% of our party was going to be sleeping on the floor, each of the aforementioned employees did EVERYTHING they could to fix the situation. They were kind, apologetic, and understanding...
Read moreI'm staying in Tifton for trying with the sate and my birthday was 7/13 so my husband and I decided for me to stay instead of driving home. The Hotel I was in with the state was booked up due to a state swim meet in Tifton. I called and made the reservation over the phone and got there and checked in. When we arrived to the room I was so disappointed. I had paid for a king size bed and the room we got absolutely DID NOT have a king sized bed. So I immediately called to the front and the front desk lady assured me it was. The next day I ran into the cleaning lady so I ask her about the bed. She told me it was a regular King bed it was a smaller than a king and since abunch of people were checking out that I could request to change rooms which I did. The two queen room was so much better than the match box they had stuck us in. The lobby was so. Eaitiful but the rooms were in need over an updat. The closet door were banged up and the walls in both bathrooms looked like someone had sprayed bleach on them. The shower curtains in both rooms had been cut really short from what I assume was mold/mildew at the bottoms of the curtains. I paid a pretty high price for a room that was in the shape these two rooms were in. Oh the phone in both rooms were missing buttons bc they didn't want to replace them so they just took out the buttons on the phone so people couldn't use the non working buttons. Also the elevator sounded like it was ready to break down at any second and the pool needs a major renovation too. The chair looked like they were 10 old or older. The cleaning lady and the maintenance guy were the sweetest people ever but that's not enough reason for me to pay that kind of money to stay there again. If I ever rent a room in tifton again I can assure you it won't be at the FAIRFIELD INN. I know there's nothing can be done now but I can warn others from...
