This was by far one of the worst experiences I have had at a nail salon. UNSANITARY, UNHAPPY, and BAD VIBES ALL AROUND. They didn’t even soak my nails for the $44 dollars they charged for a gel manicure!!!
Before I go into detail - I would like to thank Marina for doing a great job on my pedicure and young man at the front desk who was very helpful and very, very apologetic.
Here’s the BAD: I made an appointment, as this salon was advertising a “Grand Reopening” with “20% off to new customers”. After relocating to the area recently, and driving by this place of business each day, I figured I would try them out. I requested a gel polish manicure and pedicure. Nothing fancy. Just gel polish - I even picked the same color for my nails and toes. The woman who did my nails asked me if I wanted gel or powder, I advised gel. She was very pushy and told me I would like powder better. I asked her the difference and she said “it lasts longer”. Who doesn’t want their nail polish to last longer? I said okay. She began to pull out the tools she needed - ALL UNSANITIZED. I should have walked out then. I asked her repeatedly if it was acrylic. I said numerous times “I don’t want aryclic” - she advised that it was very light and “not acrylic” What she did was in fact acrylic, and the WRONG COLOR. I wanted a deep red, what I got was a tan color. When I asked to have it corrected, she said she could paint over it. But not without first telling me I was in the wrong. When I asked the young man to show her the color I wanted, she quickly change diapers her mind and told me should could paint over them. To add insult to injury, when I went to pay they advised they were giving me “20%” off - like it was a for the terrible customer service I received. THEY WERE ADVERTISING THIS ANYWAYS. Nonetheless, I said thank you and proceeded to pay. What happened next was ridiculous. He used my card, and ran out of receipt paper. I waited another 15 minutes for the woman who messed up my nails to tell me to go pull money out of the ATM to “help him out”. I declined, and showed her my already charged bank account. During that time, she went back into the POS system, and rang up a new charge for a $44 manicure, instead of the $30 I had originally been charged. (The POS system faces the customer - needless to say I was in awe of what I was seeing). This of course increased to balance due, and when the young man came out - he had to change it back as they had already ran my card. I still tipped, asking for the additional $10 to go to Marina- and I watched the lady who messed up my manicure pocket the cash. I walked out and WILL NEVER GO BACK. **less than 1 week later my nails are starting to wear and the red she painted over the acrylics is scratching off and showing the awful color underneath. SAVE YOURSELF THE $$$ AND GO SOMEWHERE...
Read moreThe impetus of this review is to properly memorialize two negative experiences I encountered at this location thus far. Something I state with great repetition is the fact that we all long to be treated with civility, decorum, and respect; it is such a rudimentary thing to offer someone, yet is so impactful and costs nothing whatsoever.
I had visited this location historically in order to have my eyebrows waxed and encountered an older women whom I believe is named Tia, however, of that I may be mistaken. In the midst of shaping my eyebrows, I found myself quite embarrassed when she verbalized "Oh, you are so sweaty, are you nervous?"
I merely assumed this was an anomalous thing she verbalized in poor taste; hence, why I returned once more.
March 4, 2024, I had the vast misfortune of meeting with this woman again. In spite of a lengthy wait and a poor experince with her historically, I kindly greeted her and posed the question as it pertained to how she had been; if she had big plans for the Easter holiday etc. In the midst of her waxing my eyebrows, she made a random comment that the distance between my eyebrows was quite asymmetrical and she wasn't sure if that was a natural occurrence or the result of the manner in which they were shaped; my retort was she was the last person who shaped my eyebrows, so either it was natural, or the result of her work.
She went on to say: "You have so much white hair" (within my eyebrows); I was humiliated as I was encompassed by customers as she verbalized that statement; my response was: "You make a lot of observations, most of which are not positive."
At the end of her work, she randomly lauged, when i questioned what prompted her laughter, what the impetus of her laughter could be traced to, she responded with silence, for that reason, I posed the question again, she stated what prompted her laughter was the manner in which I responded to pain, which was decietful as I wasn't in pain at all.
This woman apparently derives joy from demeaning others. Suffice it to say, I shall not pay for the "privilege" of being demeaned/humiliated.
In spite of this woman's lack of decorum, I rendered a twenty five percent tip on each visit in order to provide her the respect she failed to render to me.
This woman felt as if she was demeaning me; although this was in fact the case, she also demeaned herself simultaneously with her blatant classless behavior.
You lost a customer who was nothing but respectful and kind to you. Your lack of decorum is quite incredibly shameful.
It is quite rare that I take the time to compose a review, however, this woman's behavior was so callous that I found it...
Read moreI went last week to get my nails done for my trip and decided to get Gel-X, I actually been doing my own nails for the past 2 years but my boyfriend wanted to pay for my nails to get done and with that being said I tried this place!
Nails: I actually really liked the color! I thought they were super pretty! But was extremely disappointed when two of my nails fell off within 32 hrs (I went on Vacation the next day after getting them done so I couldn't go back to get them fixed) and which was even worse my boyfriend proposed to me 3 days into our trip so 72 hours after getting my nails done.... So you can only imagine how upsetting it is to pay for nails (Gel-X which are supposed to last 3-4 weeks) for an engagement just for them to start falling off before you can even purpose 3 days after getting them
Customer service: I thought everyone was kind and the guy who was doing my nails was super nice and we had great conversations! They were not super busy which was nice so my fiancé and I were in and out!
Cleanliness: I'd rate a 8/10 only because I felt like they were not prepared for me or my fiancé even though we had appointments. I did feel like there was nail dust on the table my hands where sitting on which is a little uncomfortable but I do understand nail dust can float in the air so it could just be that!
Overall: I hate making negative reviews but I wouldn't recommend they seemed to be really nice people and is a pretty nail salon but I feel like we wasted money, I feel bad for my fiancé who was just trying to make my nails look good so he could purposes but then he was stressing out because my nails fell off! I feel like we wasted money because I could've just done my own nails, I've never in my life had nails fall off in 32 hours after application from neither myself doing them or from getting them done by a nail tech
I'm not sure if it's the products they are currently using for Gel X or if the nail tech hasn't been properly trained on Gel X but no one should be paying money for there nails to just fall off! Hopefully they improve on quality because I believe they are nice people but I will not be recommending nor returning nor looking for a refund or redue I just wanted to simply leave a review to help others out in...
