Overall I had a very terrible experience. I am new to the area and was looking for a dentist for me and my family. I completed all previous registration requirements prior to actual appointment. I booked an appointment for dental cleaning. After my x-rays we're completed, I was told that my cleaning won't be done during my visit for which I originally scheduled the appointment for. I was also told that dentist is running late and it will be a long time before he can do an examination so if I want to, I can reschedule my appointment and receive exam and cleaning then. I decided to patiently wait. I waited for an hour for the dentist and a total for one and half hours and nothing was done that originally booked appointment for. I felt that it was very disrespectful for the dental practice to waste one and half hour of my time and do nothing for me.Then, telling me that I need to schedule an actual dental cleaning at a later time. I decided to terminate my very brief relationship with the dental practice and seek a dental practice that at least respect it's patients 1. Time, and 2. Performs actual services that I scheduled for, which for this intimal time was standard dental cleaning.
In my humble opinion what occurred to me was completely unacceptable and should not happen to anyone in the future (I hope it won't happen to you)
Christal (Crystal/Krystal) dental practice office manager told me that they can't guarantee service! Then, I asked exactly what did book my appointment for? Somehow it appeared not me that she wanted to litigate this issue. This should never occur to me or anyone especially when I followed all of the previous procedures prior to my appointment.
To further state, no way shape or form, I should have any conversation with practice office dental manager as to why I am in the office and somehow prove up my intent to have a cleaning done.
I also felt the the medical assistant staff was working under quasi duress even though they were exceptionally nice to me but appeared be stressed for factors outside of this situation.
Victoria a director for the practice called after she read my review and apologized, we had a nice conversation. I informed her that what occurred to me should not occur anyone in the future because it was simply wrong. I spent significant amount of time completing all online paperwork and replying to text messages to confirm my willingness to be a patient at the practice. Victoria somehow implied just a little about HIPPA rules of privacy. Nothing could be further from the truth.
I informed her that the review will stay as the only pathway for the business to modify their dental practices.
Victoria also mentioned something that I felt it was odd. She mentioned that "prior patient relationship needs to be established" - My thought "exactly what one person in addition of following everything that was asked of me needs to get done". No real answer was provided.
My recommendion is to anyone is to simply look for a different dental practice. Something weird is occuring in there and a patient/client should not be exposed to or learn about.
The experience for any customer to the extent possible should achieving the the...
Read moreI visited this practice for emergency dental work for a tooth that had broken off around a large filling. The X-Ray, as interpreted by the dentist (who is a partner in the practice) indicated to him that there was "decay" around the filling area, not enough of my remaining tooth to work with, and my only two choices were root canal or an implant procedure and pull the remaining tooth. It was clear from the conversation that he had a preference I choose an implant procedure. At that point, he sent in the office coordinator with a price sheet and payment / financing options for implant procedures totaling close to $4,300.
Unknown to this dentist, I am an international business man and have done work in Panama, where in the past, I had dental services performed for costs that were 1/5 to 1/3 of the typical US services. At $4,300, I surely needed a second opinion, so I re-arranged my schedule and flew to Panama as I had business there anyway.
My dentist there has worked in the US, Germany, and in Panama, and she removed the bad filing and discovered there was no "decay" around it, a healthy gum, and enough of the remaining tooth to work with. She strongly advised against an implant and ordered a crown procedure for $700. She flatly stated that the US dentist should have visually verified the "decay" he claims he saw, and verified the tooth and gum area under my filing before sending in his implant payment plan coordinator to pitch me for $4,300. The crown procedure was performed, and it was highly effective.
I don't write reviews on local businesses, but I feel in this case, it is warranted. My personal opinion is I was "hustled" for an implant procedure. This dentist, at the minimum, should have taken the next step of diagnosis and tried to verify if it was at all possible for me to keep my real tooth and work with what was left to keep the roots, nerves intact, etc. Sending the payment person in was a clinical short cut, at best, or fraudulent or negligent medical practice, at worst.
Make sure you shop the other dentists in the area if you need anything beyond the routine. I had options many people don't (this is known as "medical tourism" and it is a thriving industry in nearby places like Mexico, and in places like Panama and other countries). Why? Medical services are, extremely expensive in the US, people need to pay cash because the insurance is horrible and / or too costly, and in some cases, medical practitioners take advantage of patients who are not careful and wind up paying, in my case, $3,600 more than I had to for the wrong procedure for this patient (but not for the dental practice).
I can't recommend this practice. This practice should review their protocols to prevent this type of potentially fraudulent or clinically negligent practice from...
Read moreComing from someone who has been extremely terrified of the dentist since I was about 6 years old…I am now pushing 40…for THE first time in my life I experienced a dentist that knew exactly how to handle someone w extreme fear and anxiety. So much so that my uncontrollable tears from fear turned to sobbing from sheer happiness that I, for the first time in my life, wasn’t shamed for crying. Dr. Kloss talked me through each step w such charisma and assertion that he didn’t trigger more fear but rather actually was easing my panic. I cannot express enough how much this means to me as I am someone that has had extensive amounts of dental work done due to genetic reasons and unfortunately my parents were ripped off when I was a child by a con artist dentist that claimed to be a ortho who made a mess of my mouth by pulling baby teeth long before adult teeth were aligned right and had just caused a lot of long term damage including my ridiculous fear of the dentist. So braces three times, six maxiofacial surgeries, root canals, crowns, etc… I can say w confidence that this man just changed my life drastically. I am actually looking forward to my follow up to get sutures removed and complete my comprehensive exam and consult to start planning to fix everything else needing done. Up until today I wouldn’t go to a dentist until I was in pain. I’ve dreaded the thought of losing all of my teeth and the smile everyone in my life loves so much until now. I have hope to save my smile now!!
I Can’t thank Kaytlin enough for referring me!! All the staff has been great! Even the assistant that helped the Dr. during my grafting…. He immediately grabbed my hand when he saw tears pouring down my face and that alone made the whole experience much more easy to get through.
I can’t say enough about my experience today and no words will ever really be able to concisely express the amount of gratitude I have but I hope anyone reading this will gather that Dr. Kloss and this office are hands down the best I have ever dealt w. (I’ve lived all over the country and over seas. I have been to 23+ different dentists, so I feel that speaks volumes) Okay…. Enough rambling. Chose this...
