Highly Skilled and Caring Professionals!
I recently had the pleasure of visiting The Paul Mitchell school for a perm and hair thinning service. Full disclosure my sister is a student who was far into her studies, and I cannot express enough how impressed I am with the entire experience. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warmth and professionalism, and the level of care I received throughout my visit was truly outstanding. The atmosphere is welcoming and relaxing. The space is clean, well-organized. The staff and students were all incredibly friendly, and I felt like I was in good hands from the very beginning. Before any service began, I had a consultation with my sister and her amazing Instructor, Clinton who would also be working on my hair. They took the time to listen to my concerns, preferences, and goals for my hair. I wanted a perm that would give me soft, natural-looking waves, and I also needed some thinning to reduce the bulkiness of my thick-ass coarse hair. The Instructor asked thoughtful questions and offered expert advice, ensuring we were on the same page before starting the process. I appreciated how transparent they were about what to expect and how they explained each step along the way. His kindness patience and candor as an instructor and stylist made the entire experience that much more enjoyable. The perm itself was executed with alot of care and i have to say the school is showing my sister so much, and as the youngest, she has really grown up thanks to this school. She was meticulous in sectioning my hair and applying the perm solution evenly. Clinton checked in with us frequently to make sure I was comfortable, and was always nearby to guide her and ensure everything was done correctly. The end result assured me that the school has been training my sister very well and I am confident in her skills. And reitierate how well Clinton specifically had mentored her. After the perm, the night had run long so my sister could not finish thining my hair personally but Clinton moved on to thinning my hair. He was very throrough and left my hair amazing. His technique was so cool too. He removed just the right amount of bulk without compromising the overall shape or texture of my hair. The result was a lighter, more manageable style that still had plenty of volume and movement. It was clear that the Clinton had a deep understanding of hair texture and how to tailor his technique to suit individual wants When the process was complete, I was absolutely thrilled with the results! My girlfriend loved my hair and everyone has been complementing me on how good my hair looks at work. My hair has beautiful, natural-looking waves that are better than what I had envisioned. The thinning made such a difference in how my hair felt – it was lighter, easier to style, and had a more polished look overall. The stylist even gave me tips on how to maintain my new style at home, which I found incredibly helpful. What stood out to me the most was the level of care and attention I received throughout my visit. And seeing my sister become passionate about her craft and take pride in her work after seeing her struggle to find her self for so long was an amazing caveat. I cannot stress enough how Clinton has influenced my sister and ensured that every step was done to the highest standard. I felt valued as a client, and it was evident that the school prioritizes both education and customer satisfaction. I would highly recommend the Paul Mitchell school to anyone and have at my job. The level of skill and care you receive is truly exceptional. I will definitely be returning for future services and can’t wait to see what else this talented team can do! A special thank you to Clinton for mentoring my sister and for such a wonderful experience! I would also recomment this school for anyone wanting to learn styling as it has been a huge part of my sister's personal and...
Read moreThis experience happened last year around May, however I am constantly reminded of how bad of a treatment I received from this school. My inspo picture consisted of a brown base with subtle highlights. The first session began with lightening my hair and the second session was the actual dying of my hair. After being there for hours, I was not satisfied with the results. I touched the back of my neck after leaving and noticed there was still dye left on my hair due to the dye not being washed off properly. This left me with having to wash out the hair on my own at home. The hair I was left with consisted of streaky highlights that weren't blended and different shades of blonde in my hair. It wasn't what I had envisioned in mind, however, I understood it was a school. I was a little upset but nothing compared to the horrible experience I was going to have next. The worst part of my experience is when the instructor with ginger hair named Clinton or something came to review the work of the student. At every salon I have been too, they usually don't know where to begin because I have so much hair and always mention to me how thick and full it is. He began to compliment my hair and tell me how he loves that I have so much hair and mentioning the length. I only asked the student for a trim and slight face framing and that's what I got. He mentioned that the layers in the back of my hair seemed choppy and said he was going to blend them for me. He took a pair of shears and used that to blend in the ends. He took a comb and mountains of hair started to fall. I looked up confused and he had stopped what he was doing and told me that they are all blended now. When stylists are done with haircuts, they usually put all your hair in the front so you can see the results. When he did that, I had BARELY any hair left. He thinned out my hair so much to the point where there was gaps in my hair. After complimenting my thick hair he pretty much thinned it out so much that I was left with thin brittle hair. This was such an awful experience because of how he thinned out my hair so much. 8 months later and I still experience gaps in my hair. I had a received a trim at a different salon 2 months ago and they had told me that there were many gaps in my hair so they would try to cut as little as possible. This is very frustrating as it is easy to make your hair grow longer but not in thickness. I do not recommend this salon to anybody please take your business elsewhere. You cannot even trust the instructors. Yes, he was kind however it doesn't take away from the fact that he completely ruined my hair. The reason I am writing this at a later time is because I finally let my hair grow out a bit longer and returned back to my natural color. It is devastating to see the thin hair he gave me after saying how beautiful and thick my hair was. Even now 8 months later I am living with the horrible haircut I got and it is frustrating knowing that my past experiences at this school were NOTHING like this. Nothing has destroyed my confidence as much as this experience. The last 8 months with my hair from this school has been...
Read moreWe had been coming here for years but yesterday had the worst hair cut ever! The lifting and color look great and l was happy but lwhen we moved to the haircut l went from luxurious long above the waist hair to above the bra line and no shape, uneven haircut…. My hair was shredded not cut ! I felt so disregarded to what l asked for! Considering that l was there prior 3 months ago n had gotten a trim so l only asked for a trim again and l don’t understand how a person could cut around 5 -6 inches of hair when is that long! Like why would l need it?? It wasn’t damaged and last trim was 3 months before! When a person carries long hair hairdressers should be aware that they like it like that and it takes care and time to keep so they need to cut carefully I even showed him w my fingers before cutting and hold how much l want it to cut ! I kept on looking at the back some parts are really short and the front longer making it look so thin, dull and with out life ! It even got rid of my beautiful highlights! I went from beautiful full long hair that l love to show to just want to put it in a bun n not show at all! and when the instructor came and asked how l felt l said is definitely way more than what l asked for she said it looks healthier! It was very disappointing to hear since when she came to give and estimate and see about the service she asked what we were doing she asked about a haircut and how much hair being cut l said just the ends l like my hair this long and the only way l would cut it is if it was to get damaged by the products and process and you would recommend that’s why I’m such disbelief that they would cut so much and be ok with it like oh well it’ll grow! And when l got home and see peoples reactions and having them asked what did you do to your hair made me just want to hide in my room and not leave my house or be around people for a while. I was planning on being ready for a family reunion and leave town and now all l want to do is cancel. l had carried my hair that way for 20 years l never thought that a trim or just the ends could be above the bra line more close to shoulders....
