Little Canyon Park is nestled on the outskirts of the Grand Canyon University campus in Phoenix. With the first phase of renovation complete and second phase beginning this month, this is a fantastic park to check out in 2024. The most exciting update to the park is the first Bank Shot Court in Arizona! Bank Shot is best described as mini-golf but with a basketball. The court consists of hoops positioned at different heights with angled backboards where players earn point values based on where they shoot the ball from. We had a blast trying Bank Shot Basketball for the first time! The court was so versatile that we played a full round by the rules as well as creating our own. Most kids at the park were having fun just making baskets in the brightly colored hoops skipping the rules altogether. The court was perfect for all ages with trick shots to keep the older kids interested and hoops at shorter heights for the little ones. Little Canyon Park also has a regular basketball court, sand volleyball court, multi-purpose sports field, walking path and lots of newly installed picnic tables and ramadas. Plus the park has outdoor ping pong tables and cornhole boards so remember to bring your paddles, balls, and bean bags if you’ve got them! What’s next for Little Canyon Park? The second phase of renovations is happening now and scheduled through February. This update will include a playground, swings and lots of features to balance and spin on. Our family is excited to go back and see all the updates later this year when construction is complete. 📍3201 W Missouri Ave, Phoenix, AZ 85017 (Thanks to Denise for sharing her review and video!)

A decent park. My soccer team practices once a month at Little Canyon so I go there a lot, and it really is just a decent park. Pros: lots of room on the sides of the soccer fields for playing. A Basketball court, a playground and several benches. It's right next to GCU so there's lots of additional light and it can be very lively at times. Soccer field lights allow for late night sports. Cons: The grass is yellow and dry resulting in a mostly dirt field. The bathrooms are filthy 95% of the time. The smell of Marijuana is constantly in the air, but that's common at city parks.

Beautiful grounds, clean rooms, activities available upon request. Definitely will be returning, a nice break from Oregon as we were stuck home due to fires and hazardous smoke conditions!! Stores are easily accessible, Starbucks, Albertsons, BJs Restaurant and Brew, AMC theater, Ulta, 5 and Under

they've updated... it's not finished but it's going to be really nice... I'll go back and get pics.. they now have cornhole.. kid and adult size.. there are more shady tables... there's basketball for little kids but it's part of a program? I'll include that info with the pics so I'm not telling lies... the bathroom is the same... they don't have doors on the stalls due to street people and druggies doing bad things in them... but we don't use it unless it's totally necessary and we do the buddy system.. I'd never let the girls ( 8&9 ) go on their own... overall I'm good with what they've done... back...
