Studio 23 — Local services in Pikeville

First time I went there, it was overall a decent experience, I got the haircut I requested, plus the cut I wanted. However, it was very unprofessional, not the cut and dye itself, but the behavior of the staff. While i was getting my hair cut, one of the stylists said the r-slur, that i'm not going to repeat here. This was highly unprofessional and externally upsetting, as it inst a word that they should've been saying, let alone around customers. The second time I visited, while their behavior was decent for the most part, I did not get the haircut and dye that I specifically requested. I told them exactly what i wanted, I even showed them multiple reference photos. But, even though I told them this, they did not listen. I asked to 1. Not cut my bangs, 2. Shave around my head, 3. Keep the top all the same length. They did not do any of these, they cut my bangs way way to short, above my eyebrows even. Then, they didn't even shave around, just a small bit off the back. And on top of all that, the front of my hair is noticeably shorter, even though i asked for it to be the same length. I essentially asked for a bowl cut, and they gave me a knock off mullet. My stylist rescheduled my appointment a bunch of times. I came in for a consultation she said I would need two packs of extensions which ended up not being enough. I had to wait three weeks to get more. I ended up with half sew in and half tape in extensions. I asked her to dye my hair black and instead she gave me black highlights. My hair ended up taking three appointments to get finished all three times I asked her to dye my hair black and the last time she straight told me no and that it looked better with just the highlights. Within a week my sew in extensions had fallen out. My extensions look absolutely awful my hair is dark brown with black highlights but the extension beads are blonde and my tape in extensions are so obvious that you can see them from across the room. Not to mention my tape in ones are already slowly falling out Which could be my fault because I don’t know how to take care of them and when I asked her what I needed to do to make them last longer she told me to only wash my hair one time a week and I do exactly what she said but they are already falling out and I have only had them for 4 months, she said they would...

I had an awesome experience at Studio 23! I came in to get my hair done for my wedding and was a bit nervous since I’d never been there before, but Katy did a fantastic job on my hair even though it was in a rough state when I came in. She took her time and made sure I was 100% happy with it. Derek was also so kind and brought such a fun atmosphere to the place.
