I really want to give more stars but I just can’t. Hear me out…
My wife and I heard about this place and it was recommended to me. The Cadillac Burger (hamburger, jalapeño, blackberry jam, egg) was specifically recommended. We sat down, we’re met by a waitress who took our drink order. So far so good. But she got my drink wrong. Not a big deal but a sign of what was to come.
After I got my correct drink she took our order. 20 minutes later we were still waiting for our food. She approached us and I thought she was going to give us an update on our order. Nope. She asked us if anyone has taken our order yet. That’s right, the person who took our order, wrote down our order, and gave our order to the cooks asked us if our order had been taken yet. It was at this point I was wondering why she was so scatterbrained.
The food was warm, but not hot. The fries were barely warm enough to eat. The burger was great tasting but also not that hot. The food did not come fresh from the kitchen. My wife asked for ketchup and we actually thought for a minute our waitress wouldn’t forget. This did not happen. After ten minutes my wife left the table and retrieved her own ketchup from another employee. When our waitress saw this happen she apologized weakly but frantically. It was at this point I was beginning to think her frenetic forgetfulness was perhaps chemically induced.
I ordered the chocolate lava cake which was very good. She left and came back a while later. Like, she was gone long enough, a bit longer actually, than required to heat up a chocolate cake. I thought I was getting my Cake. I was wrong. She asked us if we were ready for the check. I told her I was still waiting for my cake. I could almost see the lightbulb illuminate in her brain before my eyes. The cake came quickly after that and like I said before, it was good.
The manager spent a good amount of time at the table behind us trying to sooth the customers there. Now, I’m. It the prying type but I tried. I can’t quite say why they were unhappy but we had the same waitress. I think they have a good concept here but I just can’t recommend it. If the food would have come more timely (and hot) the star Clint would be a tad higher. But the slow food delivery and forgetful waitress was too much...
Read moreWon't award even one star. Ordered their club sandwich, came out looking very appealing and fresh and then I bit into it. Noticing something strange as I was chewing I removed paper from my mouth. Upon further investigation I discovered the paper had not been removed from the slices of cheese. I had to wait nearly 10 minutes to get the attention from staff to point this out. A young lady whom I found out later was the manager came over and apologized and offered to correct the problem, by this time my wife had finished her meal, so I explained to the manager that I was hungry and would like the sandwich remade and the meal should be compt. She was not agreeable but relented to my argument. I waited another 20 minutes for my second sandwich to be set in front of me and luckily I was smart enough to look before taking a bite. Again the paper was still on the cheese in my sandwich. When I presented the evidence to the manager she was initially resistant in correcting and still expected payment, to which I agreed to pay for my beverage, which after 2 failures should have never questioned of the proper action to be taken. There was no regard for the customer nor when I pointed out the health violation they would face nor a potential lawsuit the could face, should someone wish to take it that far. I own a business and this manager needs training or the door and the ownership better get a handle on things or get prepared to be out of business. Traveling as I do and also understanding everyone makes mistakes, but this one is definitely not the way to be successful. I hope ownership reads this and can get pride out of the way and correct their internal problems because I truly believe in the small business in this country but if you fail it's because you failed your customer. Good luck but I won't be back. Ok, Google won't allow me to post this unless I award it a star rating. So I give one star as their...
Read morewhile in town for a work trip, the entire team went to bank 253 for dinner. We had been there the previous year and it was very good, so why mess with what you know works? Note to self, because it's all about the staff, and that was definitely different. mediocre food can be forgiven if the service is great. Good food gets forgotten if the service is bad. The worst combination is mediocre food with terrible service and that's what we got this year. we asked the bartender for suggestion when the drink we wanted could not be made there. very simple question, what would you recommend that's close to that drink? no response. they just sent four cans of beer. we didn't accept those and asked for a different drink that the server told us they could make. They never arrived - four drinks never arrived. They weren't on our bills either so clearly they were never even entered into the system. aside from that, the food's just basic, three of us got the French dip and either french fries or tater tots and Arby's would have been stiff competition for that meal. All of this could have been shrugged off except for the fact that the service was terrible. The server was not even able to handle a party of eight who is using credit cards. she took the cards two people at a time, ran them, then returned at her convenience to take two more. It literally took over 30 minutes for eight people to get all of their credit cards processed and returned. this won't be on the agenda for any more work meals on trips to Pikeville. What a...
