Corner Store — Local services in Pine Mountain

I have never been shocked by employee before. I stopped by to buy some water and while at the counter I noticed they were selling pokemon reading cards at the register for a great price. $1.99 a pack. I bought 5 as I've been collecting since I was a child. I opened the packs in my car and realized they were fake. I went back in to let them know they weren't real cards and only a counterfeit but I was amazed by the response of the older lady employee. She told me they aren't real cards and that's why they are cheaper. I told her there was no indication that they were not real, even having the pokemon logo on the box and individual packs. There is nothing to indicate they are not real. I did not ask for a refund because it wasn't a big deal to me but there might be children who buy the packs not knowing. I told them "I don't want a refund but you should just let the kids know they are not real, they can play with them with their friends but they will retain no resale value". That's when I was told "you collect these? You should know it isn't real." And I tried to show the box how it said pokemon company and had all the branding. I said maybe just warn the customer or put up a sign and she said "no I don't own the store and if you see it's only $2 you should know they're fake." I asked her if she thought it was immorral to sell fake cards to children who are normally 8ish and she said "they should know better too". I was nothing but polite but her reasoning is that if you get scammed then you're just dumb and got scammed. I cannot believe the lack of remorse shown by this employee especially when I wasn't even asking for a refund of any type. I believe this company is willing to sell inferior products without letting the customer know what they are really getting. Extremely disappointed in this small business.
