I booked through the homestead location for my fiancés birthday a day in advance and bought two tickets. The day of we had a third person tag along so I added another ticket one hour before we were suppose to start. The Uber driver picked us up and we were on our way. However our driver was having issues navigating the gps. I called escape room and told them we were having problems finding the place but according to gps we were going to be 5 minutes late. The gentleman I talked to said no problem. They would start on time but we wouldn't miss much. The gps led us to a fence where the road ended and was telling us to go straight. However we could not go straight because of the fence. It looked like some large empty parking lot but I could see the lights of what I assume was the waterfront in a distance. Confused and frustrated I then put the address into my gps on my phone. After routing it told me we were 16 minutes away. Realizing it was going to be half way over by the time I got there I called to let them know. The man was wonderful. He said he couldn't give us a refund but we could reschedule for another time and that these things happen. About 10 minutes later I got a call from a different number but the voicemail said it was Jackie from the escape room. So I called her back. The whole conversation lasted exactly 1 minute and I have all the logs to prove all these calls took place in my phone. Basically she asked where we were at. I told her the issue we were having and that we couldn't make it. She asked why I didn't bother to call. I explained the multiple conversations I had with someone else from their establishment. She then outright called me a liar which I will admit surprised me. She then said that other people from my party were able to make it so what was my problem. She listed the name of the last person we had bought a ticket for an hour before starting time. I said that's impossible because that person is right beside me in the Uber. At this point she very unprofessionally hung up on me. Like I said this entire conversation was exactly 1 single minute. At this point I was very confused and angry. I began to dial her back but I was also still lost in the Uber so I opted to deal with the escape room later and try to make my way back home. We made it back to where the Uber initially picked us up at $45 later. Next day I began pondering what happened and realizing that I was out of $45 for the Uber plus $81 for the tickets and never got to experience the escape room. I know that it was on me to arrive on time but things do happen and I feel that this is not how any business should handle this situation. The place was closed both Monday and Tuesday. So on Wednesday my fiancé said that he would call and try to resolve the situation himself because my emotions were already tense from the way I was treated during my last conversation with her. When he called he got the same Jackie I dealt with. She explained that she hung up on me because I was swearing at her, which absolutely never happened. He very calmly apologized and began asking how this issue could be resolved and if we could reschedule. She then hung up on him. He called back and asked why he was hung up on. She said it must have been a bad connection. She then said she was unwilling to work with us to resolve this issue so we turned to our bank and are currently contesting the payment. It is so unfortunate that this business holds this as their standard for customer service. I will not be recommending this to anyone that I know and will warn against using their services because things do happen that are unfortunately out of your control sometimes and I would hate to have anyone else be treated in the manner that we were and to have their night and or week ruined. Happy...
Read moreThe concept and rooms were very fun. I rented out both rooms for a birthday. The kids (13-15) loved it and really enjoyed themselves. However, the staff was not so friendly and we're rather annoyed by us. My daughters (13-14) have visited this place numerous times by themselves and were never turned away or even asked about there age. Having booked the party 3 weeks in advance over the phone they never notified me of the requirements for teens other than having to completely book both rooms even if both rooms aren't filled. I even asked if we should arrive early and was told that that many people in a group may be distracting to the guests in the rooms prior to our time slot so I was advised to come 5-10 minutes early. When we got there we were greeted by a woman who seemed like dealing with us was the last thing she wanted to do. I was told that because we didn't come early enough that we may not have time to sign all release forms before our time slot so we may have to forfeit one of the reservations. I was furious and caught a little off guard by her attitude. After small exchange of words she hesitantly proceeded to give the group the instructions for the rooms. Then asked me where was the other adult and that she couldn't allow the kids in the room without an adult present. Again, I was never notified of this. After another employee chimed in she allowed the kids to start the room. All of these requirements are in the fine print on the website. But as I said I booked over the phone. Knowing that it was a party for teens they should have emailed me a link to the release for in advance and advised me to read the website if they weren't going to list them over the phone. Meeting the requirements wouldn't have been a problem if they were known in advance. It was the attitude from the door from the employee that got me. All in all, the kids had a blast. I just felt that for paying over $400 for the hour we would have been greeted by a friendlier and...
Read moreCarnagie's Millions was FABULOUS. The employee who assisted us was excellent, fun and enthusiastic. The reason I give a four out of five is that I don't like giving bad reviews because the game was great...I HAVE to take away two stars because the rules clearly say no one under 15. A group of kids came in and at LEAST 3 in the group...maybe up to 5 of them were clearly KIDS.(11-14 yrs old). They were already poking and kidding around like kids do in the waiting room. We were asked and told them we did not want to be in that group (locked in a room with squealing kids, being kids) for an hour. We were made to wait an extra 1 1/2 hours to at 10:45pm vs 9:15pm. So we canceled our evening plans and had to wait or not do it. I feel since the other group broke the rules, they should have been the ones to wait. No price waived, no discount, not even a shirt or $7 pin. They did apologize...but why make US wait??? Not knowing the area and being told not much around except Aldi's and Buster's...we SAT. An hour. And a half. Quite a downer. The next day we found out there was a Mall at the riverfront. I would go back tenatively, but would mention I do not want to wait nor be booked with kids. They need to stick to...
