I love Schenley Park and especially the disc golf course! I consider it my home course and have played it for a long time.
The views from the first 2 holes are great. The course was designed to be played by anyone with varying levels of experience. This is my go-to course to bring newbies and they always enjoy it.
The course is wide open for the majority of the front 9. As it transitions to a wooded course, it becomes more challenging especially if you want to go for greatness (which I suggest). Access to this course can be achieved in several ways and there usually is plenty of parking.
When should you go? Go now! Okay, I'd suggest that if you want to play 18 in a little over an hour, you will be more successful going in the weekday mornings or afternoons. It's not that the course gets that much more backed up otherwise, it's just that alot of people go to Schenley after work and on the weekends. Still, don't let that deter you! Have fun, play the game and share it...

Forever I looked at this as the easy course in Pittsburgh and it maybe is, but this sport is growing and courses are getting bigger and better and harder. That doesn't mean that there isn't value here. Still a well designed course. Opening holes play fairly wide open, asking you to make a placement drive, then you start playing into the woods. Good holes, perhaps a bit crowded together.
If you are disc golfer and in town for a while, then yes there are better courses, but it's absolutely worth checking out the roots...

But my favorite part is definitely the disc golf course. It's an 18 hole course, each hole having multiple tee off locations based on skill level. Great for a group of friends or just going by yourself. Good mix of open shots and through the woods (bring an extra disc). And lastly, lots of opportunities for nature sightings! (Had to pause while a woodchuck enjoyed the Green on...
