Initially posted a negative review because of installation issues falling on deaf ears for 10 days, and was contacted within hours of posting the review. Today, a week later, they arrived and cheerfully and apologetically corrected all previous installation issues I had. Looks to me like the issue was really that I did not have the correct number to call with any problems, so my calls just kept falling through the cracks. Once the right people knew there was a problem, their response was immediate and satisfactory. My advice is to actually be there for the installation, instead of leaving a young son there to just let the installer in. (Still don't know what the first guy was thinking, but the two that came today were great.) And, before the installer leaves, be sure to get a direct, LOCAL number to call with any problems. The actual internet service is great. I dropped down from 800 mbps with previous cable service to 300 mbps with Astound (2 people in the home streaming simultaneously), and there is no, noticeable difference whatsoever. No freezes, buffering or delays at all. Updating from 1 star to 4, only leaving the 1 star off for letting my initial installation issues fall...
Read more5 stars allday! Most of the negative reviews clearly have no idea what they are talking about. Between my girlfriend and I this is everything we own that runs off or is assisted by WIFI (smart TV, three cellphones, steamdeck/computer, oculus quest, playststion 5, Nintendo switch OLED, office computer-2nd floor and more) i used to have T-mobile 5g home internet. 99% of the time my steamdeck, cellphones, ps5 and TV are all hooked to the WIFI when I owned T-mobile any time I downloaded a game on my deck the ps5 would need to buffer while we streamed a movie or TV show and she couldn't use her computer upstairs not counting the security camaras not working do to the WIFI gigahertz. Now all my security camaras work and I can download a game while watching one of my apps. That was my ultaminte test to astound was seeing if I could download a game with out my ps5 needing to buffer and it all runs smooth and the game's even download a bit faster now and I signed up for there cheapest package last month. Read moreOutage from 9:00 p.m. last night and still ongoing so far. There have been 15 different estimates so far for the restoration of service. This is just from the amount of times that I have called. The system just seems to update the restoration of a service time every half hour. If they would provide a realistic and honest estimate, then at the very least the customers that they are charging and not currently serving could make some other plans. Instead I get lies and to waste all of my mobile hotspot data waiting for them.
As far as calling you cannot talk to a person, the automated system will simply tell you no one can help you with anything until the outage is over and hang up on you. This is truly ridiculous. This company used to have reliable service, and at the very least if you called you would get someone. Now the price is going up and the reliability has gone down. I guess I'm shopping for different service and telling all my neighbors about my experience because no one at the office will actually talk to me or let me get past their stupid robot...
