Let me start by saying that my driveway was an absolute disaster. It was crumbling, uneven, and when I went to pull weeds from the hundreds of cracks, chunks of asphalt would come up with it. Not to mention it was a complete eye sore. But for a single mom of two girls, one which is college-bound in a few months, replacing a driveway is a big expense, and not necessarily one you imagine enjoying all that much. For the past 5 years, I’ve had to decide whether to fix the driveway or take a vacation. Guess which one won every time? You got it, the vacation. Fast forward to a global pandemic and suddenly going anywhere just isn’t the cards, so I decided to bite the bullet and fix the driveway.
I started getting estimates and I couldn’t believe what I was hearing, the first guy wanted to do it in December when it was freezing, and it only took one Google search to figure out I’d wind up with a cracked driveway before long with those temperatures. The second guy wanted three-quarters of the money up front and in cash, with no guarantee they’d ever even come back. It became very clear very quickly that they were trying to take advantage, which I have to battle often being a female homeowner.
Luckily, a lovely, shiny postcard showed up in my mailbox from Paddy’s Paving. I gave him a call and from the moment he answered the phone, I got a good vibe. Paddy showed up the very next day, explained everything in detail, and gave me a fantastic price. His crew was exceptional, hardworking, neat, and very respectful. They were always on time, or early, and I always knew exactly what was happening and when. You can tell they take pride in their work and love what they do.
They just finished the job today and I couldn’t be any happier. The driveway looks SOOO good – I want to throw a party on it! Not sure if that’s a thing, but as soon as it’s dry, I’m going to make it one.
In these hurried days, it was so refreshing to see that Paddy runs his businesses with good old, fashioned integrity, trust, and superior craftsmanship. I can’t wait to work with him on...
Read morePaddy's paving did a terrible job on my driveway. He had it pitched so that all the water would rush into my garage. Now everything is molded over in the garage. He wanted to put a ridge of asphalt in front of the garages, or a drain for a lot more money. With the ridge we would need specially designed garage doors to be able to close the garages. Paddy also offered to fill the garage with cement pitched to keep the water out. Paddy also on a wall that had water coming through and his solution was to stuucco over the wall which still has water coming through. Paddy also replaced several sections ove my sidewalk. The concrete ee used was all pitted and his workers dumped and cleaned their tools on my existing sidewalk can't be removed and looks terrible. The icing on the cake is that the company that did the paving of my driveway rang my bell and offered to since because he was ordered to pit h it so the water would run into the garages. I now have to have the entire driveway taken up and replaced. Be warned about paddy's and...
Read moreI hired this company to demolish an old deck and build a patio with a firepit. When the patio was being built I was assured it would not flood. In fact, water collected on it in large quantities after every rain. The grading elsewhere on the backyard was ruined also, with water collecting in numerous places it didn't use to. The way the firepit is built it is irregular, with no liner ever being able to fit it. The contractor provided a 5-year warranty on the contract. When contacted he gave me several assurances that he would come back and fix. After 3 or 4 calls he simply stopped picking up the phone or responding to text messages. When contacted from Better Business Bureau, he saw the messages and ignored them also. ...
