So many interesting stories and characters as well as tragedy in the history of this incredible building! I really like how they accurately staged everything and documented the history with incredible detail! If I had one complaint, it would be that the sign leading to the museum is not obvious at all so we missed it and had to call for guidance. The private property sign is a little intimidating as well and made me second guess.
Besides these small things, I loved this museum! For $5 admission, you get so much information and detail and I’m looking forward to the lighthouse association restoring more...
Read moreI enjoyed touring this hotel which has a lot of fascinating history. The fact that it's over 140 years old is a testament to its construction, since other hotels in the area were demolished by hurricanes or wildfires in the past.
The tour guide Rick was knowledgeable and shared some fascinating stories about the connections between this hotel and the nearby lighthouse. This area of Florida has a lot of underappreciated history - this area was truly wilderness even in the early 1900s.
