1.20.23 Glad we went back today. We were so Disappointed last time. But this time it wasn't crowded. Our server was Steve and he was SUCH a wonderful server. Very attentive to us. Especially regarding being gluten free. A huge help. Thank you Steve!! The cook came out to check on something I ordered to make sure it was ok. Then the manager came to check on us. The weather was perfect. The food was really good. Had Nachos and then had the steamed seafood dinner. Yum! No complaints at all this time. Steve thanks again for making our dinner so pleasant. Another visit..April 2022... (Year l9448 2679 6298ater) Was ok. But but not great.... Think we are done going there. Food nothing special. Server nice but hard to get a hold of. Sat not on the pier but by the bar even though I protested. So loud you couldn't talk. Ants running all over the table. Bathroom gross. I used to love this place but will not be going back. Ok.. Revised... Back yesterday took Dad with who is 90... And his friend. But I have Celiac's .. Not by choice do I eat gluten free..I have to eat GF or get extremely ill. I hate it and hate to have to talk to the server about it like I am SO Special.. It's not fun for me because I am not as person who is an attention grabber. It bothers me to be singled out. So we sit down at this place and as usual I tell the wait person, Nicolee,..when she walks up I have Celiac's and need to eat gluten free. Right away she gets hostile toward me and starts giving me grief about it. All I Asked is if she'd point out a few things I could get that were gluten free.... She had a mask on so I probably stared at her a minute to determine if she was kidding with me or what... Couldn't determine it from the tone of her voice. I was like... What???? Surprised at the way Nicolee was talking to me. My husband says just order your drink for now... Said I thought I remembered a drink from last time I was there... Asked is they had it and she started on me again... "Well you remember a drink that we have.. you would think you remember what you can eat here that is gluten free...". I laughed it off because my Dad was sitting there with us. First meal he'd had eating out in well over a year... And we had driven 2 hours to bring him to this restaurant.. This was to celebrate his 90th birthday which we missed because of Covid. Well now he was refusing to order anything to eat... Thanks a lot wait person Nicolee!!! Way to make sure to ruin people loving the place where you are working. So I found something to order tried to ask her to please make sure it was gf.. That I have Celiac's... She's well how do you spell that.. With an 's'...I tell her just write gluten free on the ticket... After telling her how to spell Celiac... She just wrote gluten... It was all pretty screwed up... I mean really... You want a job...a successful business in the food industry... You would think they would teach their employees about food sensitivities since a vast amount of people have some sort of sensitivities. Just saying after driving 2 hours to get to this place then waiting 30 minutes to get a table.... If not for that...I would have just said skip it and left. And you know what... They wouldn't have cared less about it.... It's the day after and it is Still on my mind.... But I paid the bill. And that's all they care about. Nicolee I left you a good tip anyway.... Because I know your job can be a hard one... But I don't think you should take it out on the unsuspecting customer. Old review is below... So much for the nice staff I mentioned a year ago.... But they are gone now. Really liked this place, they also did great with the Gluten free options. Also a very casual. Sat by the water and watch Pelicans take their breaks on the poles sticking out of the water. Food a tad slow, but very tasty. Prices were pretty good. Will go back when in the area again. Staff very nice.

I researched this restaurant before Spring Break and was looking really forward to this cool little place based on all of the great reviews and prices. It was an amazing atmosphere; unfortunately, the food wasnt very good. Aesthetically, the plates looked fine. They were out of scallops, out of seafood boil in foil, out of green shell mussels and top neck clams, out of veggie burger, out of celery for wings (or coleslaw substitute) and out of large size take home boxes. My 17 yo daughter had boneless wings and carrots, which she said was good. My 13 yo daughter had chicken tenders and fries, which she said was "ok" on chicken, but not the fries. I ordered fried cod, asking if the mac-n-cheese or cole slaw was very good. Waitress has never had either in the 5 years working there. The batter on the cod was alright. I did enjoy the fish once I removed some of the coating. Mac-n-cheese and Cole slaw were fairly bland. My sister ordered cod tacos with cilantro cream sauce and a basket of hush puppies. It was sour cream, not cilantro cream sauce. She asked about the cilantro cream not being tinged green and having no cilantro flavor at all. The waitress said, "it's basically sour cream with some cilantro in it, but not a lot." There was NO cilantro whatsoever. If the white substance contained even small green granules- that would have been different; however, this was straight up solid white. My sister left it alone and didnt say anything further. The house made chips were very bland and seemed unsalted. The hush puppies contained corn; yet, seemed a little bland. Possibly, it was an off day in the kitchen- I don't know; however, I do know the employee (watched him walk into kitchen area) inside the windowless restaurant dropping a loud f-bomb made the older lady at the table next to us whip her head around pretty quickly. I also found this extremely unprofessional. I hate leaving a not so great review, but feel I should be honest.

August 8, 2024 UPDATE.. Knowing that Geoff manager ↔️ who actually works alongside crew , doing everything plus keeping everything going, running a tight, but professionally fun ship" , was also very disappointed to have had this review, though he knew it was true, as i would never make a review anything other. He immediately addressed the issues all around, and though he is well liked by staff and patrons alike, as well as treats staff very respectful, he also expects that this establishment has an edge, food presentation, preparation, friendly and efficient staff at all times. Because he knows that a restaurant is a dime a dozen, and people can go most anyplace else. He wants them here. And took action in a constructive way, because his place here, and the ownership he takes, is important, for the sucess of everyone, and enjoyment of patrons. The best way, keeping people coming back, over and over. And Word of mouth speaks volumns. THANK YOU GEOFF, for being the kind of person I know cares. It may not seem like a big deal, its a restaurant, right? Nope... It IS, because, so many managers at OTHER restaurants, have zero clue about guest satisfaction. They would rather be rude to you and tell you to go elsewhere, than to run their establishment correctly. 💯% GEOFF, is not one of those. He made sure things were corrected, not just in this situation, but across the board for ALL guests, new, regular, and beautiful white Egrets and Herons. Come try some Buried Treasure Nachos now.. Tell Geoff, ~Cat sent you...😸 Old post, ALL BETTER NOW, THANKS GEOFF, YOU ARE THE BESTEST

Atmosphere 10/10- view can not be beat!!!! We saw a manatee, it was amazing. Food was decent, I went on Monday and got the fish & chips deal but for some reason the fish batter was sweet like had hints of cinnamon so I completely gutted my fish and ate it unheeded. Also got hush puppies that were hard as a rock but the interior was tasty. Service- to be as unbiased as I can, I can tell they were extently busy and I overheard the hostess say “she’s cut” and I think a manager say oh well she’s gonna have to take this table. They closed walk ins with the couple behind us so I can tell it has been a super busy day and I was prepared to be patient with our server…. That being said service was just awful. She forgot to put our appetizer in, we were sitting on the interior and she came to the exterior so we had to yell our order at her. Didn’t get silverware, she didn’t check on our food which did have an error but after being ignored for so long I just ate it. My husband has shrimp & grits and it was so cool that it came as a boat, and tasty too. Will absolutely come again maybe earlier in the day, we wanted to catch the sunset but the fried food I received clearly tasted like it had been fried in 3 day old grease and apparently service declines by the end of shift, but the views were well worth us giving this place another shot if we ever come to town.

This is a restaurant at Ponce Inlet, offering seafood and a little something for everyone. We had a group of 7, so we required two tables. As we were dining outside, we needed the heaters to be lit in the center of the tables and only one worked. Our waitress told us that the only other empty table did not work. We waited and when another table beca.e available we asked to switch for that table. That one also didn't work because it was out of propane. We were told that they didn't have any more tanks. After a bit, my son asked the manager about this, and yes, they had some. It took several tries, but at last we had heat. Now for the menu, they also were out of several things our party requested. We also asked for salt, and our waitress told us that they were having trouble getting it from their supplier. A kind young man from another table, generously provided it to us. Now, that being said, my food was excellent! I had the fried green tomato BLT. Very flavorful and served with hot fries. My husband had something like a low country boil and he said it was very good, while another member of our party didn't care for it. For our service and overall experience I can only give 3 stars for this visit. In fairness, I would give them m another try.

February 2025: Looking for a fun place to have dinner? Try Hidden Treasure Rum Bar and Grill. The restaurant doesn't look like much from the street, small and a bit weathered, but don't be fooled. Sitting on the water's edge of a small canal by the Ponce Inlet Lighthouse, provides the perfect backdrop and vibe for a great evening. The outdoor dining has an unobstructed view of the Halifax River where Mangroves thrive. The sunset was magnificent! Our food was great! I even enjoyed my green beans! There was so much flavor in every bite that I was humming "m-m-m". Okay, that was kind of stupid, but true. The flat-iron steak was delicious, but the macaroni and cheese side was one of the best I've ever tasted. The whole meal was outstanding! I tried the deep fried Key Lime pie. It was good, but the crumb coating hid the tart flavor of the Key Lime. Besides a very good waitress, the manager greeted us and spoke to us several times making sure expectations were met and that we were totally satisfied with our experience. Special recognition goes out to Joey! Joey is the resident Great White Egret. He definitely looked in charge as he scrutinized every meal delivered. The atmosphere here was amazing. You need to check this place out!
