Dollar General — Local services in Pontotoc

Ever since Jermain left, things have gone downhill- empty shelves, while full carts of unopened boxes block the aisles for days and days. Remodeling improved the aesthetics, but didn't do much for customer service. I counted 11 people in line one day last week..one cashier. Yesterday a cashier told me I couldn't use the coupons attached to the Good n Fun dog treats because "only one per purchase.". She didn't understand that I was purchasing each bag. Her concept of "purchase" was each time you appear in line to be checked out. I can't use the coupons anywhere else because all the packages are carrying the same 25 cent coupons, but I will shop for those dog treats elsewhere so I can use them next week when I again spend $40 per week on these expensive dog treats that my dogs love. I am in the process of writing the company that their tactic of issuing coupons to make their quarter price increase per PKG, more palatable to the public , isn't working when you buy at...

The absolute dirtiest, non-stocked Dollar General I have ever been in. It's absolutely filthy, papers and plastic wrap all over the very dirty floors, not just today but every time you go in there. There were no carts today but I found THREE empty ones randomly sitting at the end of the first aisle! I only used this location for convenience but after I had to leave my groceries at the checkout because their machine would not process my card, I'm done!! I had seen this happen, more than once, to others. They also installed a self scan months ago that I've only seen in operation once, it's otherwise been broken! Only one checker and around 8 people waiting to check out. The checker was friendly and apologetic. Sounded like Metallica playing, much too loud for conversation. It must have been distracting for him, because the lady in front of me decided she didn't want paper plates and they were charged to me. The checker of course thought he had cancelled the transaction. He could not refund my 4.00? because the manager was not there so I took the plates.... that I did not want instead of waiting longer.
