Port Austin Market (IGA) — Local services in Port Austin Township

Has a mix of standard items (frozen convenience food, snacks, pop, meat, pet supplies, produce, basic groceries like cereal, etc) and other items that seemed surprising (it had 5-6 kabocha japanese pumpkin for some reason?? Meijer doesn't even have that?). Unfortunately I stopped in for ice cream since the ice cream store was closed when I was there (shoulder season) and they only had big tubs or big packs of ice cream, the cheapest was like $6 or $7.

The cashier guy was...having a bad day. You don't have to bend over backwards for customers with a huge smile all the time, but you also shouldn't leave such a nasty rude impression that customers walk out thinking "what was that guy's problem??" which is how I felt lol! They have a self checkout kiosk, maybe just do that instead if you go here 😅.

Good little grocery store but this review is solely for one employee, the gentleman with the glasses cashier is one rude, life hating individual. We were here all weekend and every time I’d say “hi how are you” and nothing from the guy. No social skills. Also all weekend I used my debit card and he never charged me a “convenance charge” and all of a sudden out of no where on the last day of our trip he decided to charge me. When inquiring about this charge, all he said was “have a good one”. We dreaded going into the store because he is such a depressing person. A place with such big turnover should at least have a...

Its a very small grocery store but the only one available in or around Port Austin. Other then basic groceries they also sell a wide variety of Beer and Alachol. They do have an excellent Meat department, its always fresh cut, not frozen and they will make special cuts for you. They make their own brats in a wide variety of flavors as well as stuffed pork chops, kabobs and more. And they now sell Pizza which is once of the best in Huron County. The staff are always the same ppl and the customer service ia excellent. Its your classic small town very friendly...
