What can I say. One of the first things I did when I moved here was to try and figure out where the closest Asian Market might be. Imagine my surprise when when I found this one in Port Lavaca. When I first pulled up I was doubtful. I am used to large, inner-city markets. This place looked small so I assumed that their offerings would be limited. Boy was I wrong! Virtually EVERYTHING I was accustom to buying at giant shops was there. Bags of dumplings, Imperial rolls, steamed buns, sesame oil, dumpling sauce, fresh ginger, fresh bean sprouts, coconut water, coconut milk, a variety of soy sauce (both dark and light) fish sauce, Pho broth base, palm sugar, a huge selection of noodles, enough interesting items that keep you asking what is this and most importantly Cafe duMonde at a price so low it boggles the mind. Add that to tiger balm, culinary cooking items, beauty products, extremely nice, warm and helpful people, and virtually no line and you've got a very nice Asian...
