I really gave this place the benefit of the doubt. Im basically an invalid due to L5S1 sciatic & bedridden except to drug up with pain relief & go to my different healing modalities. First Issue - On my first visit Kristin tried to teach me about the cause of prediabetes & discourage me from my carnivore diet telling me its inflammatory. After 5 months the carnivore diet reversed my prediabetes status & I had an A1C of 5. After 3 weeks on it I had released all inflammation from my body and is why I believed Dr. Anthony Chaffee over her. Second Issue- I told them I couldn't sit walk or stand without pain yet they had me sit. While sitting they told me to do pelvic tilts & had me floss. Could they give me a laying down position that I could floss in. No. I had to google & find one. Third Issue- I was finally put on a machine because I was actually doing really well. I could walk for 1 minute after being in bed for 10 weeks. The next day something happened & I regressed all the way to the beginning unable to walk, peeing in a urinal on my knees off the side of the bed because I couldnt even crawl to the toilet. They had me do too much too fast. Fourth issue- I finally returned after 8 weeks and again too much too fast & pain once again. I havent been to work in 5 months. Im very fragile and they are part of the hinderance by not realizing my fragility. I did an MRI laying on my back and it regressed me to the beginning and I told them that. Yet my 2nd day back after being gone for 8 weeks they put me on my back & gave me an exercise. I felt fine doing it but the next day cant walk hardly at all. Too much too fast. I will not be returning.
The 3 stars are for the front staff kindness & scheduling help. All therapist were kind as well just not professionally enough trained. Kristen also told me not to see a chiropractor and I quote "because then we won't know if what we are doing is helping." This isn't about you. Its about me healing and getting better so I can go make a paycheck & not become homeless.
Ive been doing PT, chiropractic, massage, accupuncture & Reiki and I can honestly say I feel chiropractor has been the best. He did massage, stretching and used the activator . No popping & cracking due to my fragility. I didn't start chiropractor for 4 weeks after PT due to Kristens ego. Chiropractor is the only thing that has gotten my sciatic to begin to centralize. My chiropractor suggested a back brace & water therapy due to my fragility. I was kind of upset because shouldn't that have come from my PT suggesting that?
Not happy after 5 months of 2 regressions & not much success here. My 3rd regression was the MRI I had. Two were due...
Read moreI'm still working with the wonderful Megan Morris in this clinic, but a couple of months or so after we began working together I started p.t. for another issue. If you don't know what a vestibular system is, be grateful. I've gained more in-depth knowledge of mine than I ever wished for--and I never wished for any. But that's life, as a singer once claimed.
A major benefit to receiving p.t. for this problem is that I get to work with Kristin Miller. Vestibular Rehabilitation is one of her specialties and she indeed knows her stuff. I began treatment suffering from intense balance issues and some vertigo but thanks to the exercises and stretches she's taught me those balance issues are no longer as intense as they were, and the recovery from those episodes is far quicker.
Kristin has a background in gymnastics and she effectively employs it with me. When I get frustrated over not being able to maintain my balance during some of the walking exercises she'll tell me or show me videos how Olympic gymnasts lose their balance during a competition balance beam routine and how they recover it. So at times she's both a physical therapist and my gymnastic coach. She's relentlessly upbeat so I have to be too in her presence since it's infectious.
I'm grateful to be working with Kristin; she's made a difference in my life. Two years ago I wasn't able to break out my kettle charcoal grill or my electric smoker because it set off debilitating balance and dizziness episodes something fierce. Not any more. This summer I'll return to full bore backyard grilling and smoking, Who knows? I might even try it on a...
Read moreIf you're looking for a stellar physical therapy (PT) group for your rehab, I would suggest going to the Port Orchard Kistap Physical Therapy Clinic. By far, it's the best PT facility I've ever been too. The therapist are caring through actively engaging and monitoring your specific needs for recovery. To name a few I had the absolute pleasure in working with were John Carlson, Nate Cobb, Megan Morris and a traveling PT from Johnson City, TN (Landon). All have made sure to push me so that I would meet my goal(s) in recovery. I suffered with a meniscus tear to my left knee which I had to have surgery on and WOW I wouldn't have expected to have almost 100% stability in my leg with only being an month and a half out from my surgery date. The therapist listed above go beyond the standards to ensure your success. Yes, you must put in the work; however, they want your success as much or more than you (the patient) would believe. These professional therapist are caring, health conscious, and devoted to your overall success for your lifestyle. Having gone through their program, I can honestly say....it's been one of the best experiences of 2020 thus far! While I would never want to have another injury it is my honored pleasure to suggest Kitsap Physical Therapy to anyone that is looking. You will not be sorry for taking full advantage of their services and expertise! Look no further as you have found the best place for your...
