Stay away from this horrible place!!! We have had the worse experience. I will share in detail. My husband usually gets strep throat about once, sometimes twice a year. Thursday morning he woke up super sick. Im talking high fever, couldnt stay awake, headache, and sure enough a soar/white throat. And we knew it was strep. I called Sound Health Care Center and they were able to get us in that morning which was great! We would be first time patients, but the said we could establish primary care later, and just get him in. I loved that. My husband goes in and see Malia Weigelt. He goes and she apparently, just had a horrible attitude. Like she clearly didnt want to be there. Didnt seem to care that my husband was sick, lack complete compassion. He is talking to her about his symptoms and she asked him if he received the flu shot and he hadnt. so she said he had the flu. He explained that he felt very confidant that it was strep. She was adamant that it was the flu. He had her swab his throat for strep. She said the text would be in the next day. Mind you, she is saying that he has the flu, but she didnt even swab him for influenza! My husband comes home with nothing more than basic flu instructions. Hes in bed, miserable until the next morning.I mean, he was in bad shape! He calls the office and was told, sorry Malia isnt here and she wont have your results until MONDAY! I was floored!! So I call and explain that this is unacceptable! If Malia knew that she wasnt going to be in and not have the results in the next day LIKE SHE SAID, she should have recommended he go else where or maybe have him take the faster test! I explain the situation and spoke to several people. But in the mean time my husband goes to urgent care, where is treated great! But also, when the doctor looked in this throat, he couldnt believe how bad it was!! Made comments how bad it was and couldnt believe it wasnt taken seriously at Sound Health Care Center. And sure enough, tested positive for strep, had to get an antibiotic shot. I explained to Kristina at Sound what has gone on. She seemed to care. Said she would call me back on MONDAY. Well TUESDAY is here and she calls me and says that she will reimburse my co payment. but as far as the test. That we still have yet to get results from. will have to be paid for. I expressed to her my feeling upset with that, seeing how we yet to even have the results and how if we would have waited... could you image how much worse my husband would be!?. but basically said.. nothing we will do about it. (not so much in those words but with that attitude and lack of care)
In a nut shell, STAY AWAY FROM THIS...
Read moreThey are great for young healthy adults that don't have any major health problems. Once you add kids, major health problems, or possible health risks then the patients are too complex. Here is why I say that: They are not able to give kids their vaccines, they don't do their own lab draws, and if you need any pain medicaions they can't write a prescription (even if you have chronic pain and are disabled). They will not say that to you until you pay them and see them as their PCP for a few visits, though at least they do tell you upfront that they can't manage chronic pain prescription. Only after I had setup a wellness check for my 4 year old that they tell me at the end of the appointment about what vaccination are due and they can't provide the service there. They give you a list of two places that can give the vaccinations for free but they are both very far, near Tacoma or even Seattle and you have to make appointments ect. What normally is not hard or stressful with a PCP that can do vaccines, imagine trying to find another clinic that just does vaccinations (not for low income). All other clinics that do vaccinations are almost a year out and they want you to be established with them as PCPs and it is part of their wellness check. That is the most frustrating part about this clinic. There is an annual payment to keep the providers as a retainer. It is nice to be seen the next day for an appointment. They will send antibiotics to your pharmacy if you are sick. Though if you want routine labs ect. You have to ask them to send the order somewhere that you know that can do them. Then who knows if your insurance will cover the place you picked to get your labs done and you might have to pay for your labs...
Read moreI live in the Seattle area, on the east side. I switched my primary care physician and am now going to Sound Health instead of the other place I used to go to, which is on the east side. What a difference... When I schedule an appointment, I can come in a few days after I call, unlike 6 weeks out as in the previous place. My primary care is now Dr Brad, and he is nothing short of highly professional and comprehensive with his care, as I would expect any PCP to be. The office is very good at following up on future dates and things that I have to do (annual blood test, repeat tests, which I would have not remembered to do otherwise, etc.). It's so nice to be able to call them and speak to someone every time - whether it's the front desk, Dr. Brad's assistant (sorry; I forget her name), instead being treated like another one of the thousands of patients in many clinics in Seattle or the east side. Furthermore, since I am on the east side, when I schedule tests, the staff at this office go above and beyond to find test locations that are convenient for me and near my place of living. To summarize - I'm happy with the level of medical treatment and care I received in this office thus far, and I'm happy to drive over 1-2 hours to see the doctors here (I would spend that much time anyways in the waiting room over on the east side clinic waiting for doctors to be able to see me even though I made an appointment at a certain time). They are always on time and I haven't had to wait in...
