In very displeased and upset, I called into the Call Center to schedule an appointment early in the morning and was informed that from the time I called in (at 8:50a.m.) that there was a cancellation that morning for a 9:15a.m. appointment available (approx. 25 minutes) is all the time I would have to get there and unfortunately due to inclimate weather, preparing myself to leave the house & the distance it would take me to travel to the facility it caused me to arrive 10 minutes after the scheduled time. I have a very uncomfortable cold & sinus infection and was really put out to be told the Doctors schedule was so cram packed that there was no way that they'd be able to see me due to my tardiness and nobody at the facility seemed to care about the fact that I was very visibly feeling under the weather, that I got there as fast as I was able to get there or that I'd only known of the appointment for 35 minutes total time. It was obvious that the ladies working had no care, concern or compassion for my already uncomfortable ordeal that I found myself in only to be told that I wasn't going to be seen but I could wait there all day hoping that there was another no show or I could come back later to utilize their extended hours. It was made very clear that they had not a morsel of remorse for my situation, clearly not a care to even consider that I'm already uncomfortable and sitting in their office all day was not something I was capable of doing at that point because I found myself so upset and frustrated at the outcome I received it literally brought me to tears, from my lack of understanding why people who work in the Health Care field could so easily be uncaring, incompassionate and how they could so easily turn away an obviously under the weather person who needed medical attention. I mean I thought people who worked in Health Care might actually want to help people, take into consideration that I'm already sick so why make things worse or more difficult for someone to receive much needed medical care. I mean after the service I was denied today it's completely made me rethink my choice in ever having been a patient of the Port Orchard Peninsula Health Center, because it's clear that they don't value the patients that come there and there is certainly not any attempt at understanding and there is most definately not concern for the medical needs to be met by the staff or physicians... Unless it falls into their certain time slots without consideration for circumstance or situation. Bottom line is I just expected better from Peninsula Health than the way I was...

My wife and I continue to see our primary care providers here. My PCP, Anthony Lyon-Loftus, PA-C and Associate Medical Director, is probably the finest diagnostician I've ever worked with. The length and breadth of his knowledge base continues to amaze me. I love his manner and personality, too, since I feel it's a match for mine. He listens to me. He's quick to schedule diagnostic and lab tests as necessary. He's given me a referral to every specialist I've requested and to one's he felt I should see for more advanced diagnostics and treatment of certain issues. He's a great man who's earned my respect over the nine years or so that he's been my PCP.
My wife's PCP is Danielle Daehnke, PA-C, who she likes as much as I like Tony. Danielle has proven to be a PCP my wife trusts implicitly. She listens to my wife and answers all questions. She'll quickly schedule lab and diagnostic tests as well as referrals to specialists as necessary.
I've been to a lot of medical facilities and seen lots of doctors over my life. I know that my wife and I are getting high quality medical care here. We will never go anywhere else.
ORIGINAL REVIEW First, I'm grateful to be living in Washington state. Secondly, I'm grateful for having chosen this PCHS for our medical care provider. Governor Inslee took the COVID-19 pandemic seriously from the first reports of it starting in our state (we didn't yet know California had preceded us). Because of this our state has all the vaccines the feds will send us. Now I read stories from across the nation over how difficult to impossible it is for people to find a vaccine site or to even qualify. I have a friend in Nebraska who has no idea when vaccines will be available there. And this is why I'm grateful to PCHS. They have proactively been contacting their current patients to virtually strongarm us into getting a vaccine when we become eligible. They send an email or they call you--here's the time and dates available, which works best for you? They are determined that all their patients will be vaccinated and protected. I don't know of any other medical organization doing this but there could be. THANK YOU to all of PCHS! We are all very lucky to have you here. It's not too much of a stretch to say that many of us will owe our lives to you. Both my wife and I have our 1st COVID vaccine doses. I get my 2nd dose in two days, she gets her 2nd in three weeks. Looks like we'll be hanging around each other a...
Read moreWe decided to pick this place as our primary care based on the reviews. WORST MISTAKE! My wife needed to get immunizations done for her Medical Assistant program and the first time we came here, 02/15/18 she was supposed to see a doctor since we are new patients but after waiting over an hour and a half, she was seen by a nurse practitioner. Then a phlebotomist from lab Corp stabbed her arm multiple times to draw blood and if that sounded bad enough, she was wiggling the needle in and out left and right to hit a blood vessel. 2 hours 20 minutes after her set appointment we finally left to get 5 vials taken and nothing else. They made her a second appointment to get Hep B and MMR shots done.
Today was her second appointment, 02/23/18 with a 9:30am, after getting checked in we waited until 9:50 to realize that people who had later appointments than us were coming in and getting looked at. 10:18 we got tired of waiting and my wife asked the front counter if we can go somewhere else and they said that whoever made the appointment for her messed up because they didn't have any MMR shots available. The lady also asked who our doctor is and told her that we don't have one because they gave us a nurse practitioner. The visit ended with the lady saying she will mark us down as not seen for the appointment so that we don't get charged. This place better not charge us.
Thanks...
