Russ Wood of Windermere (Port Orchard, WA) represented me in a purchase. The deal did not go through because the sellers failed to remove their tenant (a tenant that the sellers claimed was their friend and would be vacating the premises). Russ Wood and Windermere left me hanging as the sale of the house was coming apart at the seams. That irritated me a lot, but nothing like when I found out that we didn't have the paperwork for "first right of refusal" on the house. When I inquired about it, Russ was less than helpful. I had to push him into contacting the listing broker about the situation. He allegedly did get in contact with the listing broker and told me that the listing agent was going to honor the "first right of refusal." The sellers and the listing agent were less than forthcoming with the truth during the entire purchase transaction, so I told Russ that I wanted the "first right of refusal" in writing (especially since the listing agent did not reveal that there is a "first right of refusal" on the property in the current MLS listing). Russ responded with, [the property address] "has been formally terminated. At this time, I don't feel that I am going to be able to represent you any further. Therefore, I am electing to end the agency agreement between us." As soon as the deal went sideways (no fault of my own), I was left hanging.....by myself....no realtor representing me (or fixing his mistake). You don't leave a client hanging like that. He didn't even make sure that the proper paperwork was filled out (first right of refusal). This was his mistake, which I didn't have a huge issue with until he decided to leave me unrepresented. Now I (or someone else) have to correct and fix his mistake. I have NO respect for that. That was completely unprofessional. And since he stated that he had to consult with his broker, I have no respect for Windermere. I do NOT recommend Windermere...
Read moreRuss Wood at the Port Orchard Windermere office has got to be the most patience real estate broker I have ever worked with in my life. At (damn near 60) I found myself looking for my LAST home....by luck of the draw Russ answered my call to view a Windermere listing (he was doing a co-worker a favor by taking this showing....that will teach him...) After looking at that first requested listing Russ became "my agent" ...poor guy...I knew what I really wanted in my "last home", I knew what I had to work with and I didn't believe it would work. I wanted acreage, an out building and something within budget....I started out looking at some real dumps (all my own doing.....) Russ tried to steer me but I was having my own way...at one point the man drove me for 2 and 1/2 hours to look at a dump (that he told me wasn't worth my looking at....he knew what I wanted, what my budget was and that this property would take too much, leave very little and need more help than I had to give). From Pt Orchard we went to Copalis, Brinnon and Pt Angelas to look at anything and everything that met my requirements. Even when the market got so hot if you even looked at the open listing it was gone before you finished reading the synapse. This man did not give up...and he found me everything I wanted AND MORE!!! I love my "last home" and I love this man's dedication to meeting his clients wants and desires. He listens, he pays attention and he has the patience to get you where you want to be. Go see Russ and tell him Susan sent you....but you promise not to be as...
Read moreWe recently navigated a home purchase through Windermere, with Russ Wood acting as a dual agent. This was our first experience purchasing a home with a dual agent and for Russ acting as a dual agent. In addition to that, it was a unique and challenging purchase process, with the buyer out of country and myself acting as power of attorney for the buyer. He was always in communications with us and responded within 15 minutes whenever we had any questions, concerns or information to relay regarding inspections and/or repairs. Russ was easy to work with and made himself available whenever there was a need to go to the property for inspections or meet at the Windermere office. There were a couple of hiccups along the way as one would expect with such a unique purchase process and Russ was always front and center, taking steps to promptly resolve the issues and move forward. His integrity and attention to the account was greatly...
