I brought my Subaru engine to these guys to have it cleaned, honed, and resurfaced. I was disappointed for the following reasons and will not be returning or referring this shop to anyone.

Upon pickup, my engine was not clean. Not only that, the whole thing was spray painted silver. Chunks of painted dirt can still be removed from surfaces all over the engine. If that wasn't enough, there are now scratches on my engine from what looks like someone using a screwdriver to scrape off dirt.

Every machine shop I've been to has had no problem cleaning an engine without damaging it. Not only did they not do what I asked and paid for, they created more work for me now having to strip off this ugly and poorly-done paint job that I never asked for or agreed to.

The cylinders look like they've barely been honed and there are multiple scratches and imperfections on the machined surfaces.

I gave them time and said "Just call me when you're done, no rush." He said they'll get it done by Monday and call me. They didn't call. Days later, I had to call them. And when I arrived, I had to ask for every individual thing as if they had no idea who I was, what belonged to me, or even that I was on the way. I understand things get busy but it felt very disorganized.

Rarely do I leave bad reviews, but when a place charges these prices and then does work like this.. It's worth noting. Sorry,...

My son and I built a high horsepower, 4-cylinder engine for his car and G&A Cylinder Heads did the machine work. We are VERY happy with the quality of their craftsmanship, excellent customer service, and extremely knowledgeable staff. G&A is our go-to machine shop and we highly recommend them.

They cut new sleeves into the block, balanced the crank with damper & flywheel attached, polished the crank, line honed the main journals, gapped the piston rings for high boost, and assembled the block. This place is great and I wouldn't hesitate to go back. I brought in my two Subaru WRX heads for a refresh. Gerardo was great explaining the whole process they go through and gave me a tour of the shop. The work done was very high quality - I got all OEM Subaru valves, new valve guides and seals valve lash set, heads cleaned and decked. When I wanted the valve lash changed from the spec (which varies for 02-05 2.0L models) Gerardo was happy to oblige. On top of all this, pricing was very reasonable.
