Econo Lodge Portland Airport — Hotel in Portland

Our family (hubbie, 1 year old and 2 year old) got here and requested a ground floor room b/c I am very pregnant. Non where available and we were told that it would be on the second floor but they have elevators that don't work. The reviews for this place where really bad but I decided to give the manager Cindy the benefit of the doubt because there are those that no matter what you do they are never happy. BIG mistake. With in an hour after check in (5:30pm) our kids are running around a bit in the room before it got to late when my phone rings. I answer it and it is some woman hollering and fussing at me without letting me say anything even though I was trying then to apologize . she kept talking louder and louder than me and being very ugly. I just hung up. 8:30 after working very hard to ensure my children were sequestered on the bed from the initial call. my one year old escapes while I was using the restroom. and runs across the floor one time. The phone immediately ringss. It is Cindy the manager and she never gets any sleep and she lives below us and they hadn't been informed of two kids being with us if they had they would have put us in a double room. (Kids 10 and under are free and ours are two and under they sleep in a king sized bed with us. they wont sleep anywhere else.) she spends the whole time on the phone whining and complaining about how she never gets any sleep up here and unless we want to check out right then keep those kids from running around. As much as it pains me to say this she made me cry then and it is making me tear up. I wanted to tell here that she has no idea about no sleep. I am a full time college student with a 2 yr old a 1 year old no help (other than my husband herewhich ain't much) and I am due really anytime now. we are trying to find an apartment and that is being very difficult. we have no connections and no family on the west coast. but I told here that I would keep them on the bed or tied up thrown in the closet while crying. she says thank you and hangs up. so now I am spending my entire night when I need to be focused on my algebra final coming up fussing constantly and two babies who d not understand why they cannot get down worried my 1-year-old is going to fall off the bed and break her neck on the hard laminate floor. But I sure hope that Ms Cindy the manager of this fine establishment has a restorative and restful night's sleep. She sure deserves it. she sure works hard with the running of this dump. DO NOT STAY HERE. yea it sure sounds like an affordable decent place to spend a night. It is not. the whole place feels yucky. GOOBS of transient people on the road by the property where I saw at least 4 drug deals going down in a span of 30 minutes. staff are rude and unaccommodating and treat customers as if they should feel privileged that they were allowed to stay here. they refused to let us check in early (by 30 minutes) even though my hubby told them he had...

I should have listen to all the other reviews before i booked here upon entering the room it reeked of weed . The AC does not work literally at all , we’re in the middle of a heat wave and the ac doesn’t blow at all it’s on but nothing is coming out. Their are holes giant holes every where in the room that needs fixed , strangely enough one hole is directly above the hot tub we had plug it with toilet paper to feel safer . The room was flithy flithy flithy debris on the floor the walls were gross even the sheets were dirty. The tv remotes were all missing the back covers so to use the tv u have to hold the batteries in and press the remote at the same time .The hot tub jets DO NOT WORK except one jet. reason i even rented this particular room was for the hot tub not only that when i turn it on it pushed out mildew i drained it and ran it again 3x to be able to try and use it and still mildew and filth . I do have pictures which i’m hoping that this review will let me post before the the owners respond saying it was not brought to there attention well previous reviews show it has. And i went to the desk after 1 hour being checked in told the front desk about all the issues and having to pay 100 deposit which i should have been returned to me immediately after i checked out since i only was in the room for an hour it would have been shorter but i had ordered food upon check in hopes the hotels pictures would have been truthful and accurate . It is not !! Than i tell the desk she says i did not know i did not have time to do a walk through. first of all if you did not have time to walk through prior to someone renting the room YOU should not have rented the room second of all the way the room is is damaged that did not just happen like the hole above the hot tub ?? its been there the holes in the bathroom been there that needs addressed . I usually stay at choice hotels which is why i choose this hotel i thought it would uphold the choice brand but it did not . I am still waiting for my deposit to be refunded i got no apologize for the terrible experience . I was excited to get to book this room and i feel it was a waste of using my points to book.. on the other hand i would have been way more upset if i had paid the room rate of up wards of 140 plus tax for a room like this . Listen to the reviews people work hard to spend money at your establishment not to have money wasted in this place . And someone needs to go and see why there is a hole above the hot tub it would make anyone feel uncomfortable it did us . And lastly i want my deposit back already i should have been paid a deposit to rent here and risk my health and safety on a room this flithy and broken down. This is one of the worst hotels we've ever stayed at. We don't get to get out often, as we both work full time and I'm a manager at a very demanding job. This is the first time we've been able to get away without our kids and this has set the precedence for never booking a hotel again without first being able to see it. We were there for 2 nights. If we hadn't already paid online I'd be demanding my money back. Top of bed was dirty, sheets looked to have already been slept in. The jacuzzi tub was nice the first day, the second day black crap started coming from the jets. We cleaned the tub out entirely ourselves and ran the water again, just for more black stuff to come out of the jets. Barely slept any of the nights because of the room above us basically jumping around all night. Possibly the worst part of town that you could stay in, with obvious drug activity and prostitution everywhere. Literally had to check on our car in the middle ofevery night because we didn't feel safe. Tweaker in his broke down looking vehicle was parked next to us all of the nights we were there and appeared to just sit in his car the whole home. Front desk workers also appear to be on drugs. The room itself was not clean. Someone else's hair all over the floor and in the little freezer part of the fridge. Dust and rust all over the little lights by the bed. Coffee pot was so disgusting we didn't even use it, had to go to a coffee shop to buy our morning coffee. You cannot even go in the office, they have a little window by the side which was our first sign that we wouldn't be entirely safe here. False advertising on Expedia made this motel look fairly nice, and it was disgusting. Felt the need to check for bed bugs which I didn't appear to see thankfully. That's literally the only good thing I can say about this motel and with all the bad stuff I've said I'm positive im leaving stuff out. I'm also going to be complaining to Expedia and would like a refund or at least a partial one considering the false advertisement as well as the fact that we rented this room solely for the jacuzzi tub that we could only use the first night.
