I’m in my car posting as soon as I left and I have to admit this was an utter disappointment.
The first time I tried to book for two, they canceled on me because they said someone booked a minute before me but failed to mention it to me until a few hours before my appointment. I knew what it was though, they said 6 people booked and obviously they weren’t going to honor my booking for 2 over 6.
The person I was with at the time insisted we try again. I go, by this time they canceled at the last minute and I had to go solo, but they still charged me for two. Before I even got in the room I was cut in the changing room by loose glass on the floor they failed to clean up.
So right off the bat a pair of $20 socks were ruined and my foot is bleeding and there was no urgency to handle the wound or clean the glass. I found more glass on the floor in the changing room and it pointed out.
So I get in the room and it’s not even set up to smash anything, it’s just a bucket with a bunch of old dishes and cups, that was basically it. Just hit dishes with a bat for 45 minutes. I called it quits half way through the first bucket because it was SO boring. The room was setup in anyway to be interesting to smash, like a kitchen or a shop or bedroom.
When I left they didn’t ask me any questions about why I was leaving early nor did they offer me any discount or refund and they didn’t even sweep the glass up that I pointed out and those chunks were huge.
Not sure if the waiver is the make sure customers don’t sue them for being negligent on the job. They had gloves with holes in them, helmets that were too big and didn’t cover the bough of your face. It was dangerous and unprofessional.
If I could I’d give them 0 stars.
Response to owners response: "When we called you, you were extremely rude to our staff over the phone and then opted for a refund because no other date would work.." - You cancelled my appointment either the day of or day before and when I tried to call and reschedule no one answered and I left a message to which no replied to, so yes I was obviously going to be upset.
"however it is a rage room and there will be glass all over the building and recommend people do not take there shoes off at all" - I didn't know what a rage room was exactly as I've never been. Your staff knows and failed to mention to me that there could glass in the changing room where you have to remove your shoes to put on the jump suits, there weren't any signs stating this either.
"After talking to staff and reviewing our cameras they most definitely took care of your injury as soon as it happened as we take all injuries seriously!" - I never said they didn't take it seriously, I said there was no urgency.
"Our staff does do regular sweeps when time allows" - It was almost 9pm and after my foot was cut by your glass I mentioned there was more glass on the ground in the changing room to staff. After I finished my session that same glass was still on the ground.
"Our waiver is in place because rage rooms can be dangerous and like stated before, glass gets everywhere in a place where you break glass" - No one was breaking glass in the changing room, it just happened to be on the ground room. Why would I think there would be glass on the ground in there? I've never been before.
"We also gave you in store credit for the inconvenience from the last appointment and refunded you for your second person after you were again rude to our staff over it" - You keep saying I was rude to your staff and making it sound like I'm just grumpy. You cancelled my appointment on me because of your system ( as you stated ), then my foot was cut in your changing area, the area where you have to remove your shoes to put on the suits you provide. So yeah, I was upset, problems kept arising at your business. These were very preventable issues.
So we have a cancelled appointment, safety issues and now this attitude towards me, which is a 180 from how you were on the phone, and attempting to make me look like the bad guy. What the hell kind of...
Read moreI’m confused to your response? I came and did a rage and paint session. I was going to email to try it again.
My boyfriend and I decided as a cool date night we would go to a rage room. The two we found in the Washington and Oregon area was Outraged and Smash PDX, we decided to try both to see which we would be regulars at. Smash PDX was by far a worse experience than Outraged. Before I even step foot inside Smash PDX I was annoyed it was difficult to understand where to park I drove by it twice simple trying to figure out where we could park it was not clear at all. We ended up parking somewhere else and walking there in a run-down area of Portland. If I was not with my boyfriend I would not have even gone in, there is no way I’d return alone I didn’t even feel save leaving my car. Once inside we had set up an appointment and picked our packages double trouble and 2 people paint package. We signed some waivers and got started. We were brought back into a small room to get dressed in safety gear, once suited we head back into our rage room. The rooms and hallways were so small I could not even imagine how a bigger group or simple group of 4 would be able to fit comfortable in the entire place. Back in the room we were given weapons and glass to break, they did have a designated wall we could throw our items at. However, the wall was a joke it would not even break a small plate it would just fly back at you possibly harming you, basically meaning the only option is to smash your items one tiny table. Smash PDX has crazy lighting system in each room that gave me a major headache making it very hard to enjoy the smashing of items. The weirdest thing to us was you're not allowed to exit the room without being let out, before we could start we got told that if we would like anything added or to even take a break we had to ring a bell and be let out that didn’t make us feel very comfortable especially because at Outraged all we need to do is open the door and come out and a staff member would be happy to help us or even gave us space if we requested. Once it was time for our paint session, we were let out walked two feet and stepped into the paint room there was not a good vibe transition going straight from room to room for us was not as exciting as Outraged’s set up. Plus, Smash PDX charges an additional price for a poncho and hair cover unlike outraged, that made us mad because we did not know that until time of. The shoe covers were horrible irritating I spent more time adjusting that, they had paint brushes for us back in the room to use and they were covered in paint from previous people’s sessions which grossed both of us out. And when I went to wash by hands in the bathroom there was bars on the window just like a weird cherry on top making me question the safety of my stuff and car. In conclusion Smash PDX was more expensive, less visually appealing and a complete waste of money. My boyfriend and I both agree that The Outraged Rage Room was a far better experience and now the only rage room/paint room that will get our business and its only 10 minutes away from Portland which is such a short time to spend driving so my whole rage session I feel safe and have a secure...
Read moreThis place has a solid concept- some things i wish i knew before: the physical location can’t be accessed from the main street, you have to go into the side streets which i believe can only be accessed by one direction from my experience-
parking is limited and unless you’ve been before, it can be confusing.
if you’re driving a long way to rage, these details become relevant.
The person that worked there was cool professional and ultimately charged me less than I thought bc i had extra buckets of stuff to break. so that felt good bc due to details mentioned above, we were 20 min late despite having given an hour for our drive time.
The coolness of the staff, the therapeutic nature of their business- i...
