I have purchased and sold quite a bit of magic products through experience point. They do a lot of things right and overall they have a pretty decent shop. However, I have noticed behavior that is concerning from a customers perspective and should be addressed.
First off, I went in recently and noticed foundations collector boosters $10 higher than listed on tcg player. While I understand the demand is large, it is discouraging to see such a high increase in one of the most prolific magic marketplaces. Especially with msrp being released, asking $40 for a $25 pack is unreasonable and doesn't make me excited to shop here.
Second, I went in to sell a mana crypt (pre ban) and was offered significantly less than what it was worth because there was "damage" on one of the corners. The next week I sold it to another store for $195 and they graded it near mint, a 35% increase over what they offered.
My last point, pricing is not consistent with the marketplace. I have seen many singles marked up $5-$10 over tcg player and mistakenly purchased one just to realize it was worth $10 less than I paid. I thought I could trust their pricing but from now on I will always double check.
Overall, I am disappointed by some of their bussiness practices. While I did enjoy shopping with them, I will be taking my business elsewhere from now on due to the problems...
Read morePretty cool place... The guy I spoke to was nice enough. He didn't particularly treat me badly, or well... He was kind of nonchalant about my presence. I tried sparking conversation, and expressed my interest in the game or Magic The Gathering.. But he either wasn't interested in speaking about it, or... I don't know. Maybe I smelled funny? Lol
My reason for being there was to present the Magic cards I had and see how much u could get for it... I know nothing about the game, other than the basics.. And I especially don't know anything regarding value of magic cards. I excepted the first offer he told me.. And I left.
There's not a lot of stuff inside the store. It's been there for more than a year now. I live very close by. And I expected them to have more stuff in the store by now. But no.. No shelves with merchandise, other than the simple glass cases.. Very open, and empty place. Nothing to really get you excited about. It's also dimly lit.
Anyway, if you need a place to go in a hurry... Come here. If you want super friendly staff, welcoming interior, and lots of stuff to look at and spend money on,...
Read moreHave gone here several times in the past year for YuGiOh product and my experience every time with the guy behind the counter has been weird. It’s like if you don’t play Magic, then they’re not very interested in you being there. He’s not very friendly and he’s not very helpful. After calling today and inquiring about product, I thanked him and said I appreciated his help. He replied with utter silence and I ended the call on that note. They must do most of their business online because there isn’t very much product in the store and lots of empty space. I’d happily support this business more, since I play multiple TCG’s, but the people there just aren’t the community building type of people. Because of that, I’ll continue to drive out further East and West to do business with The Yu-Gi-Oh Outlet &...
