Worst experience on a trip, EVER! We know that the Red Roof isn't the Hilton, let's be realistic, but we did not expect this. Upon arrival, it didn't look bad, we've seen by far worse, but the minute we walked in there were issues. First our reservation we made 3 weeks prior over the phone was not entered into their system. They told us a "tip" and to leave and book online if we wanted it at the price we had originally booked at, that if I were to make a reservation at the desk it would cost me about $40 more. So we went out to the car, and made the reservation from my phone. He took a $100 deposit on top of my online reservation at the desk. Which is fine, a deposit on a room is normal. He then gave me my room key, and that's it. When I asked for a receipt, I was told they only give them at check out. I asked if this was a smoking or none smoking room. He told me they are all non smoking rooms, they had just remodeled. I thought great! We parked the car and headed for the room. What you can't see from the front of the building is that right next to the Red Roof, sharing the parking lot is crack central! So as we entered the room, we definitely could tell they "remodeled" they weren't done! The floors were horrible, so we never took our shoes off. Turned to the bathroom, no shower curtain, and no toilet paper. There was hair and stains in the shower, so gross. It was obvious the mirrors hadn't been cleaned in awhile. Now towards the room.. Aside from the floors, it appeared the room didn't look bad. It had a 40" flat screen, with a good amount of channels. A mini fridge that ran, a small microwave, and a desk area. The bed was awkwardly placed, but no big deal, it was a good size (king). Bad parts..The phone in the room didn't work, the bed had cigarette burns all in the bed, and did I mention the floors, lol. I called from my cell and asked if they had a better room, and let them know what our room was like, they said "sorry, no." I asked if I could get a refund and leave to go somewhere else. They said I have to talk to morning management. So we figured we'd stick it out, you get what you pay for. All night long drunk people screaming and yelling through the hallways. The people next to us were smoking and it would come in through our window. We would have closed the window, but the room would start to smell musty. Around 11pm, we see police lights flashing through our window. About another hour of yelling. We had it, we left. We told the man at the desk that night everything that went on and he told us to come back in the morning for a full refund. We came back around 9am the next day and asked to speak to management. The girl at the front said he would not be in until 11am and was not to be disturbed, as he had a night job and needs his sleep. So I explained to her what happened. She said she could release my deposit, but couldn't offer me the refund, she didn't have the authority. I said that was fine and if she could have her manager call me that would be great. She agreed, checked us out, and we left. Shoot to 1 week later, no calls, and no deposit. So I called. Every time I called, I was told he wasn't in and would call me back. Never did. I finally called their corporate office. Explained what happened and they pretty much said "annnd.." I said I need my deposit back and would like a refund. He acted like it came out of his pocket and was shocked. He told me he released the deposit. (Which wasn't true, I had to wait a month for the transaction to expire, he didn't do anything). Then he said the best he could do was give me half my money back. I said fine, at this point I just want all of this to be done and over. It took 3weeks for a check to get here and they spelt my name wrong. I have just let it go, and know I will never stay, recommend, or have any affiliation with the Red Roof Inn. What a hassle...not worth it at all, if you're trying to go cheap, anywhere...
Read moreI stayed in the Evergreen Inn and suites one night, March 1st. I was visiting from Seattle and was looking for pretty much somewhere to sleep. I was able to find a $70 room. I was not so sure about the place when we drove up, because it seemed to be pretty busy with random people outside and things seemed pretty sketchy. I decided not to judge the outside and still paid for the room. I was honestly uncomfortable, but was even more uncomfortable when we got in the room. It as pretty late at night and my son was tired so we didn't make a big deal about it. We slept in our clothes because we didn't feel like things were very clean. The general cleanliness of the room was not good at all! It was very obvious that the cleaning crew does the bare minimum! Anyway, fast forward to the morning. I was very disappointed with the breakfast, I felt it was falsely advertised... That was simply snacks. The more disappointing thing was the throw up from a drug addict that was sick and it was right in front of the front door. There were obvious signs of the drug use that happened through the night. I was ready to check out, and the front desk man, Esteban said he needed to check my room. He came back within 1 minute saying he smelled marijuana smoke in the room. He told me he wasn't giving me back my $60 deposit. So, I politely told him that that is not true. I knew there was a rule not to smoke, there was a note at the desk saying there would be a $200 fee for smoking. I tried to explain to him, one I don't have money to give away, and that I wouldn't have smoked in the room knowing the motel has access to my card. Also, my son has asthma, and I don't smoke around him.He was very persistent, saying I smoked in the room. I asked him if he smoked before, and if he knew the difference between smoked marijuana and just marijuana (pre smoked). I told him marijuana is legal and I had some, but did not smoke in the room. He was really rude to me and threatened to call the police. I felt he should have been worried about the drug activity and the poor cleanliness of a not so cheap room, instead of blaming me for smoking. I had to argue my case, he reluctantly admitted he didn't know the difference between smoked marijuana and not smoked. He did decide to refund my money, but had no apology for blaming me, or for the poor quality of my visit. I thought someone might want to know about the happenings at this motel, and the rude man that is dealing with customers. They're were people in the hallways talking about how terrible their experience there. Mostly the drug activity, and unsavory people that hang around there. I have attached pictures of the room. The cleaners really need to pay more attention to detail. No one should have to be afraid to shower, undress to sleep or touch any of the surfaces because they're dirty. Hopefully, this email will help...

First let me say; it was a mistake on my part for not reading reviews of this place, and only looking at the posted pictures that Google maps had of the rooms of this motel.
However, when we were inside, it was far worse than I expected. I will post pictures to just give you an idea of what the rooms were like. But to begin - from the moment we pulled up, my wife and I were sketched out. There were druggies in the parking lot wandering around, the outside of the building looks dated and a little rundown (So ok, maybe it's fine on the inside, just an older building.) It was not. The lobby looks... fine. As if trying to "hide underlying problems" type "fine". Before bringing any of our luggage up with us, we decided to go check out the room. We started walking up to the rooms, and were immediately put off by the state of the stairwell and hallway leading to the room. The walls and carpets where stained, and the carpets were tattered. (I could understand if the building is older, but you'd think it would still be something they would look into replacing or at least cleaning if they actually cared.)
When we walked into the room, we were immediately hit by the smell of cigarettes and bleach. The screen on the window was completely missing, and the window was wide open (I assume to get rid of the smells.) The bathroom had unfinished spots, patches and marks all on the walls. The floors and walls of the room were all scratched and marked up.
The whole place was just low in quality and made us feel very uncomfortable. It really felt like the type of place where drug trafficking was taking place (and it would not surprise me to find out that this is case.) Needless to say, we promptly closed up the room, left the keys with the front desk man, and walked out. We ended up staying at the Comfort Inn down the road, and thank God we did.
But by far my least favorite part of the whole experience is that - I got in contact with the booking company that I reserved the room through to talk to them about my experience. They contacted the property manager with my complaints to see about getting a refund for me (keep in mind, as I said, we did not stay for any amount of time. We came, we saw, we left, in the span of like 10 minutes or less.) The property manager came back saying, "the room had been used and stayed in for a few hours."
If they were not willing to refund me, that's one thing, but to LIE about WHY they didn't want to refund, and say we stayed there when we LEFT immediately, is a huge negative in my book. Between the deceiving pictures, the actual state of the room, and the lying by management, this was a pretty terrible experience.
I hope this informs anyone else looking to stay at...
