Everyone that I dealt with after having to evacuate my house that was flooded seemed to not want to be there, four separate employees at the "shelter" all did one single thing in the four hours I was there. Ask my name and address, NOTHING MORE. Did not off a blanket, anything to drink but made sure to offer a donut for breakfast! Fast forward to trying to find anywhere else to stay, because who wants to stay in a shelter with several leaks in the roof? Sure, I'm grateful there was somewhere to go but I would have rather stayed at my own home. Couldn't because it's considered condemned right now until an engineer can confirm there is no structural damage, but I'm willing to risk a misdemeanor charge to stay in my own home that doesn't have a leaky roof. Six hours of phone tag BEGGING to be placed somewhere else, to be told that on four separate occasions the woman helping me had to reach out to her supervisor or had pinged her supervisor or had pinged other supervisors to no response. Fast forward to the supervisor calling me back with a nasty attitude because I didn't like where they wanted me to go. Would any of your employees stay somewhere with a leaky room? In a shelter with wet floor signs all over the place and buckets to catch the leaks? Not one ounce of empathy from any of them. I didn't ask to be removed from my home by the fire department at 4am. I asked for help, and was told "take this or leave it". I am absolutely disgusted with this organization, but the kicker is the minute you click on any Red Cross website or call any phone number, the first thing they do is ask for a donation. DO...
Read moreI am deeply grateful to the Rhode Island Red Cross for their invaluable assistance following the devastating fire at my property on December 3. Their prompt support provided financial aid to my 14 tenants during this challenging time. While the monetary assistance may not have been substantial, it offered much-needed relief and comfort to those affected. The compassion and dedication demonstrated by the Red Cross volunteers were truly commendable, and their efforts made a significant difference in our recovery process. Thank you for being a beacon of hope in...
Read moreWhoever drives or is driving the red cross van plate #Y41-106 today9/23/25 should be absolutely ashamed of themselves and should not be driving for this company. Driver was flying down the highway , crossed over 3 lanes immediatly, cutting me off forcing me to slam on my brakes in the middle of the highway to avoid hitting him. Mind you im in a huge box truck smh you would think driving a van plastered with red cross youd have some common sense and represent such a big company accordingly. Having such a careless driver on the road is a huge...
