I’ve been going to Pryor Creek Roller Rink for years. Back in the day, I’d skate here with my older brother before the old owners went bankrupt—which was a real bummer, honestly. Once the new owners took over, they really turned the place around. I even ended up having my first date with my girlfriend here, and let me tell you, it’s the perfect spot for that kind of thing. Here’s a quick rundown of what’s great about the rink and a couple of things that could be better.
Pros:
Clean & Organized – The rink is spotless, and the layout makes it super easy to get around.
Friendly Staff – Everyone is really chill here. I got to meet the manager, and she was super nice. The staff does a great job of keeping things running smoothly.
Song Requests – You can request clean songs, which keeps the vibe fun for everyone. Plus, it’s cool to hear your pick come over the speakers while skating.
Simple Simon’s Pizza – There’s a Simple Simon’s Pizza right in the same building. Most of the pizzas are handmade, and you can grab one without breaking the bank—most options stay under $20.
Affordable Prices – Whether it’s admission, snacks, or rentals, the pricing is really reasonable, which makes it easy to hang out here for hours.
Well-Maintained Skating Area – The skating floor is always in great shape, which is a huge plus when you’re out there trying to pull off your best moves (or just trying not to fall).
New Gaming Room – They added a gaming room in the back that has PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, and PC setups. It’s a cool addition, though it is a bit pricy—$10 for one hour or $18 for two hours. One of the workers even mentioned they’re planning to set up the old VR station that the previous owners left behind, which would be awesome to see.
Cons:
Limited Seating – There’s not a ton of seating, but honestly, it’s always been like that, even with the old owners. You just have to grab a spot when you can.
No Ramps for the Skating Area – There’s a step to get on and off the rink instead of a ramp. It’s not a big deal, but it can be a little awkward, especially if you’re juggling...
Read moreI have tried contacting management or owners with no response. We like to bring our kids to skate because it's the only one around. The inappropriate music is a weekly problem, they rarely play what the kids request, just a constant stream of inappropriate music. The biggest issue is that they allow kids that do not have skates on their feet to be all over the skating rink floor. We pay for our kids to SKATE, and the kids with NO skates on are running around in every direction all over the rink. This has caused little kids to fall, my kids can hardly skate in the normal circle because these kids are misbehaving running wild, in the way blocking kids that are actually TRYING to skate! Not only is this I'm sure an insurance hazard but regardless it's a hazard to the kids on wheels trying to skate like the came there to do. This past Tuesday there were 8 teenage/preteen kids in socks running around the skating rink floor. They also tend to stop in the middle of the skating lane and just stand there in a circle, in the WAY.
The behavior is never addressed. They should NOT be on the rink if they do NOT have skates on. Get off the floor and out of the way. I can understand if a parent is teaching their toddler or small kid to skate, then yes go help them. But what is happening is getting out of hand. 8 teens. My small 8 yr old couldn't even enjoy skating. When they play skating pool noodle tag, the kids w NO skates on take over the entire game and the entire skating floor and the kids that are actually paying to skate and want to play don't even get a chance. I hope someone will pretend the own this business like an adult and take care of things. No response to calls or emails. We will stop going if the kids don't put on skates or get off the floor. And we will spread the...
Read moreExtremely disappointed with the outcome of my son’s birthday party. Customer service was terrible, I basically paid for skate rentals and a table. I had to ask the workers repeatedly how to do their jobs. Nobody was around to help with concessions, door entrance wasn’t covered, music wasn’t playing. I asked for the birthday announcement for guest and that didn’t happen either. When I asked for a manager on duty, she came out with attitude. Tried to reach staff via email but no response. Wouldn’t recommend for booking parties here again after this...
