ALDI — Local services in Racine

7-2-2020 Written several months ago. Not as nice of a store. Prices have gone up quite a bit on a lot of items I use to buy. Some items you don't have for very long and they are gone very quickly. Difference in prices with milk and eggs from the other store. Sent them a message at least about 6months ago or so as it's been quite awhile, but haven't heard anything. Don't follow the refund policy (as I've only gotten my money back and a replacement once) money back or a replacement but not both and the cashiers don't know and have to ask the supervisor? Very unfriendly workers there now. Loved the other employees, Jacob (who works in Kenosha,) Tracy, Trina, very good workers and friendly as to just say "Hi" because they're so busy stocking or at the register. And other ones sorry I forgot their names. Isabella checked me out a couple times recently but squashed the buns I got because being faster is better? Christopher works there now and a very good worker. Seen him working at other places. Long lines at the checkout as only one working. She didn't call for help right away or the transmission was poor? Been finding lots of moldy produce that should be tossed. I have bought a lot of produce that turned bad in 2 days. Especially their salad which was recalled last week, bag balloons up and turns bad before the expiration day. Next time would tell them and then get another one, but not anymore. One lady was opening up a lot of the blueberries and feeling them, then went on to the avocados but those have a layer. Who wants to buy that? Flies and or knats in the potatoes or the fruit. No thank you. People don't wear masks or stay 6 ft. away or go the way the arrow shows. They were cleaning the carts and left a quarter for the carts. Which was very nice to do. Now they have wipes, which is nice and I wished more stores have that. Just would like my cart to use back as not everyone cleans them. Christopher was the only one who asked me. 😊

7-14-2020 A lot of people there today and no masks or staying 6ft. apart. Though there are still signs throughout the store and floor markings. One cashier for check out and a long line. Someone had to ask him. One was checking out 1 person but left after that and had her closed line sign. Don't know where she went. Customer shouldn't have to ask to get more help. Common sense which he obviously...

Be a smart shopper and comparison shop when shopping here. ALDI doesn't have a website to create a shopping list so a shopper can't compare prices and quality unless they go on instacart. I always prepare my pre-printed or e-list from another store then go to ALDI first. One would be surprised that ALDI "ain't all that" when the ALDI products are stacked up against the name brand from other grocers. My other frustration is the inconsistent inventory. Soups for example will come in an assortment case. The popular soups will sell quickly leaving the less desirable soups occupying the shelf space. When the staff is asked when a particular soup will be back in stock it's a boilerplate answer as with all out of stock items ""I don't know, corporate does all of the orders." Buying produce is also frustrating. Many recipes may call for 2 red bell peppers, but to get 2 red bell peppers @ ALDI a customer must purchase 6 bell peppers because they only come in a mixed 3 pack. Other fruit and vegetables are packaged similarly, resulting in waste. Again, be a smart shopper when shopping at ALDI or you may end up throwing food...

I don’t understand the bad reviews. I live in a small, college town, in IL. I would give my Aldi’s 10 stars if I could. Their prices are always lower than Wal-Marts, sometimes by several dollars per item like name brand instant coffee. I spend 95% of my weekly grocery money in Aldi’s. My pets are spoiled and prefer name brand food so I get that from Chewy which is much cheaper than Wal-Mart. Produce is THE best along with cheeses, bread, ice cream and everything else. The workers could not be faster, kinder or nicer. No self check outs, which I love!!! If you haven’t given Aldi’s a chance you really need to. You won’t regret it!!! You will save a BUNCH of money on good, nutritious, affordable food. Use that money towards your...
