Furnish — Local services in Raleigh

My husband and I received our Atwood bedroom furniture delivery from Furnish a couple weeks ago. The furniture is beautiful and we are very pleased. All of the items are exactly what we hoped they would be and they look great in our space. The quality of the products alone sets Furnish apart from many other furniture stores, but what really stood out to us was the excellent customer service every step of the way.

It was absolutely delightful chatting with Megan while we were looking at the showroom and considering different pieces and options. She mastered the balance of letting us browse alone at our own pace while checking in periodically in a helpful and non-pushy manner. We didn't purchase anything on our first visit because we wanted to check the measurements of our space and some other stores/options first before making a decision. Megan and the rest of the showroom staff were so kind and positive, and not rude or upset at all about us leaving without making a purchase. Megan offered to create a complimentary design/layout of the furniture in our space if we decided to come back with measurements for our bedroom.

After looking at multiple furniture stores, we decided that what we found at Furnish were pieces that were unique, high-quality, and something that we both loved. We could not find that anywhere else we looked. At Furnish, the options are customizable - customers get to pick the furniture style, type of wood, stain/finish, and even the drawer/cabinet pulls. So we went back to Furnish with an idea of what we wanted and with our bedroom dimensions/measurements in hand. Megan provided great advice, and the design schematic/plan she made for us was so helpful for transforming the space into something so much more than just a bedroom. Who knew a rug could make such a difference?! It sounds cheesy, I know, but our bedroom is already a place that I know I'm going to enjoy looking at in addition to sleeping (and I haven't even put the artwork up, yet!).

As for the delivery process - Megan was very upfront (and accurate) about the amount of time it would take to receive our furniture. Keep in mind that these pieces are quality products made custom upon order. The furniture pieces are not pre-manufactured pieces sitting around in a warehouse collecting dust and scuff marks. So it does take a bit of time for the pieces to be made, but it is so so worth the wait. Once the pieces were ready, we received a phone call from Mike to schedule the delivery date and time. He was very polite and made the process extremely easy. Mike insisted on scheduling delivery for a specific date and a specific time, not the 8-hour window that you get stuck with from other stores.

The delivery team was two very polite and careful gentlemen, Samad and Dex. They arrived right on time, and then did an absolutely fantastic job and really just blew us away. We know our house had a difficult layout for such large furniture, not to mention having to take it upstairs. Samad and Dex worked with care to get everything inside and in its place without any damage to the furniture, our house, or (most importantly) themselves! They were polite and fun, and really worked well together as a team. It is very apparent that they know what they are doing and are good at what they do. They also took the time to make sure we understood how to remove/replace the drawers, maintain the furniture, and gave us a few tips to watch out for when placing items on the surfaces.

Purchasing furniture from Furnish has been an extremely positive experience from start to finish. We will definitely be coming back when we're ready for new pieces. Thank you to the entire...

Furnish is a great furniture company! When you shop at Furnish, you get the personal services of a designer who works with you to understand what you want and need - you also get professional delivery that is easy to schedule, always on time, courteous, and aimed at making sure the customer is satisfied. When we buy from Furnish, we love the fact that we are getting high quality furniture made in the US that will last several years. Whenever we have a furniture need in our house, the first - and usually the only and last - place we go is Furnish!!!

The designer we have worked with for several years is Dory Barnes, who is amazing. Dory always takes the time to understand what we are looking for, what is important to us, and what our style is. She takes into consideration that we have kids and a dog and makes recommendations accordingly. My husband and I are close on our style preferences - but not perfectly aligned - and Dory is able to hear both of our viewpoints and make suggestions that work with both of us. And she is SO SO patient with working through things with us - and helps push us out of our comfort zone just enough to find that perfect compromise. We used Furnish initially for our living room and have since used them for our family room, master bedroom, office, and now can't wait for our furniture to arrive for our bonus room! Dory has even been great about including our kids in the decision process as they have grown - and trust me, merging 4 opinions is not an easy task!!!

We have also been very pleased with the delivery service at Furnish. It is so different from the big box stores. At Furnish, they call to set up a specific time that is convenient to you - instead of a 4 hr window based on their convenience. They consistently show up on time - and if they're running late, they always call. When they arrive, they are so courteous - they wear booties, make sure they know where the furniture is going, and they have never marked up our walls - even when taking a very heavy, bulky desk up the stairs. They also take the time to show you how the furniture works (eg, how the pieces of a sectional connect together) and take care of whatever you need - eg, putting on felt toppers for furniture on hardwood floors. They ALWAYS ask if things are okay, if you have any questions, etc, and never rush out the door.

Norwalk...it says to me, a "come take a walk in the woods" That may sound strange to most people, but for me, it takes me down memory lane. My daddy built furniture, much like the people that supply Norwalk Furniture. It is a walk in the precious "real" woods that I grew up with, NOT a walk in particle board world! Furniture with this kind of quality is so special and rare. The beauty of the wood in this store is breathtaking...Natural Cherry, Ash, Oak, Hickory, what beauty! I see myself making a gift to my children and their children of furniture with the timeless beauty of natural hardwoods that last a lifetime and then some! When I visited the Raleigh store, I was greeted by wonderful people with such knowledge! Not only were they knowledgeable of all the furniture, they were designers as well. They helped me coordinate the signature focal piece for my room, but were truly interested in the color scheme, fabrics, and presentation and placement for my space. The entire store is not arranged to sell you THEIR design, it is based on what YOU want and personal needs...I LOVED that!!! The arrangement of various types of furniture "groupings" are tasteful, but not made to influence you to buy "off the floor". The designers are ever ready to explore your preferences in all areas, as well as suggesting upcoming trends. They sure made me step outside the box with accent colors and am I glad they did. I LOVE it! Beauty is an ever-evolving process. It takes time to love the choices you make. Dreaming about what your new "home" will look like is worth the wait. Custom furniture is not chosen off the floor, it is a "creation" of lifelong beauty. It takes a while to receive your dream, but is more than worth it! I am living proof of that!!!
