What happened to Cabela's??? Oh wait I know Bass pro shops bought them out. This place feels like a timeshare convention. The second you walk in the door what appears to be a helpful employee is just there to get you signed up for there club card. But wait there's more, the lines were so backed up because of the 50 questions you have to answer during the check out process. The store wasn't busy but there were literally 20 plus people in line waiting to be checked out. No I don't want your credit card, no you don't need my phone number, no I don't want your ridiculous warranty that I have to go to your website the day after purchase and fill out forms. I was so flustered I forgot to use my gift card and paid with my CC. I asked the cashier if she could void it and use my gift card. She said I had to go to customer service. I stood in line at customer service and that was a joke. After 5 minutes I noticed several other employees just standing around leaning on the counters and I asked them if they could help me. They said no all we can do is get you signed up for the club card. See the problem??? When your lines are busy just check people out. When you employees standing around they should be cross trained to expedite the experience. I will not shop here anymore. I will stick with Scheels when I need something from a big box sporting goods store, at least there employees appear to be quite knowledgeable and...
Read moreMy husband and I were in there buying our first metal detector and the employee helping us was extremely knowledgeable and helpful, absolutely the best employee there (I believe his name was Andy). The issue was the rest of the employees. Once deciding on which metal detector to purchase from Andy's recommendations we went to find someone to grab it from the back. We could not find anyone near that department after looking for 10+ minutes so we went to the checkout and that employee couldn't help which we completely understood so we went to customer service. That woman was awful. We explained that we wanted that metal detector (had a picture of the tag and the model if needed) and we were walking around trying to find someone to help for quite a while with no luck and just need help. Whether that was her looking it up and having someone get it for us or at least sending someone over to meet us at the metal detectors we really didn't care we just needed one from the back as they only keep the empty boxes on display. She sat there staring at her computer for like 5 seconds then said "I can't do that go find someone else" So we walked all around the store for about another 10 minutes to find an employee able to help. Once finally finding an employee it took him a while to locate it which was a little frustrating but that was fine, the customer service lady was just...
Read moreSo I am not the one to ever write a review by any means and I hate taking the time out of my day to do this but this needs to be told. So I ordered a rifle scope on the 10 of Jan 2017 and was told it would be in in at most 5 to 8 Business days. I needed it for a hunt I was doing the following weekend. So I waited until I couldn't wait anymore for the item and it never showed up. So I cancelled it went to another store and bought one they had in stock. In the mean time I was not only charged for the item once but three times I was charged 202.34. I got one credited back pretty quick but the other two times was a bit harder. I even went into the store to ask and say what the hell. All they told me was that they could see I was charged twice and the two charges should cancel each other out. WRONG. I can my bank which is USAA, they sent paper work to dispute the charges and I got my money back. No thanks to Cabelas. So at the end of all this I just want people to know beware of what you order from there. Don't let them push you around and screw you over. They took 607.92 from me and it took a couple days but I got it back. That's a good chunk of money. So take what you want from this but I will never order...
