Staple & Spice Market — Local services in Rapid City

I stopped in to restock my herbs after some friends recommended the place, I'm glad I did. I'm not sure why it never occurred to me!

The other little local shop in the Hills that I used to buy my goods from doesn't carry loose herbs anymore. They only have pricy prepackaged teas & designer powders. (Granted I hadn't been in there in over a year.)

I was in the Staple & Spice for quite a while~

I probably did 2 laps around the store & 4 trips down the spice & herb wall.

I felt like a kid in a candy store: An incredible selection containing items I'd resorted to online stores for; valerian root, white willow bark, licorice root. Herbs were grown & dried very well; things smelled wonderful & weren't dingy colored. I'm especially impressed with the vividness of the calendula petals. 💛🧡

My mom was waiting in the car, she said she was getting ready to come in & check on me.

I literally piled up 10 jars on the counter. 😅

The attendants were extremely patient & fun as I was overwhelmed by my options. 🫖🌱🍄

such horrible customer service. I had gone once to purchase a Tofurkey and had asked for assistance and was treated pretty horribly. I said I wouldn't go back. However, when I was 9 months pregnant I needed some things I didn't want to wait for. I was purchasing a great amount of product here, I asked if I could use a restroom before I paid. The woman looked at me like a was an idiot for assuming they had a bathroom and spat at me "We don't allow public to use our restroom. You'll have to walk to the gas station down the street." The thing is, it's okay to not have a public bathroom, but when I am a paying customer, at least be kind in telling me that you don't offer public access to a bathroom. I haven't returned since. So many of my home’s favorite products come from Staple and Spice! From my favorite dish towel to amazing lotion! I love how they focus on providing local food from honey to Buffalo meat and even fantastic sourdough bread. I’m a realtor and I often get my closing gifts put together there… If you tell them about the family, they do creative gift baskets and then wrap them up so they look absolutely amazing. I’ve even brought in some of my logo items and they’ll add them to the basket for me! When I go in with a problem, whether it’s trouble sleeping or anxiety, etc, the staff is super helpful and recommends great products! Depending on time of year they even work with a company that does floral arrangements with SD...
