I have not taken a paid class with Doug yet but i have watched his free online how to videos.. and i have experienced his generosity to the big community of smithers both new or experience and i exceptionally love his profile whereby he called himself a stewards (not a master) and happy to pass his 30 years knowledge n experiences on jewellery making to any one hungry enuf to want to learn . Well im hungry to learn n im not getting any younger n i live across the pond in United Kingdom. But i know a good mentor when i see one. So i shall aim to fly over next year and maybe do a full month or two classes with him and tap into his 30...

can't rave about doug and the things he's done for me at the jewelry monk enough. first met him by doing one of his jewelry making classes and he was so gracious and helpful and since then i knew i'd only trust him with my jewelry so i've had him do a handful of repairs for me on some pieces i've had and he made them look better than they did before! so grateful i can have someone i trust to work...

Had these folks make my wife a silver Pendant for our anniversary with a heart shaped gold nugget inset into it. Amazing job! It was exactly what I had invisioned. Thank you so much.
