Uptown Rapid — Local services in Rapid City

The mall has been consistently going down hill for years, but now with their lack of security it's becoming dangerous to even go shopping. I constantly see management making silly videos to promote their friends' stores on Facebook, but what are they doing about the stores who are getting robbed every week? Or the store employees who are having GUNS flashed at them while they're being robbed? Is it going to take someone getting shot over merchandise for them to do anything? And what about all of the fights that happen at the mall? There have been several instances the past few weeks where groups of teenagers have ganged up on other teenagers right in the middle of mall traffic, not a single security person in sight to do anything. While shopping a couple of weeks ago there was a huge group of younger and older teenagers, roughly about 20 or more, trying to fight each other near JCPenney and again, not a single security person in sight. Giving this place a shiny new name doesn't change the fact that it's a dying mall where you're more likely to get robbed or assaulted than find a good deal.

There is a reason everyone is leaving the mall, so maybe it's time to do some self reflecting and get things together before someone else gets hurt due to your negligence and lack of...

Small to medium mall contrary to what a lot of people are saying. Erring on the small side. Not always a bad thing but also leaves more to be desired.

My experience wasn't that great. My wife's cousin was visiting from town and we were showing him the mall. He was sitting in the massage chairs after he had paid for a use. I decided it would be a good time to send a picture to his mom and a gentleman in business attire and a mall name badge comes up and says that if we don't stop he will ask us to leave. He then proceeded to shadow is while we strolled around.

I have been here several times. Unfortunately it feels like besides the food court and 2-3 stores the mall will probably die if something is not done to revitalize it and attract new stores.

One thing to note is that mostly it seems like a hangout place for younger demographics which is nice to see. There is also a place area for toddlers.

The cricket cell phone store is a complete joke. Practically got kicked by buying a brand new $300 phone, cell phone case that was $45, and a screen protector with insurance. Dropped it not even 3 feet off my lap and cracked the screen. I went in the next day to claim a new phone and return their p.o.s. case to get one that actually protects the phone and get my money back for the screen protector. He pretty much just said, we don't do returns on that stuff and was willing to charge me almost another 100 bucks for the phone protection gear and almost another 100 to get a phone through the insurance I pay 20 a month for!!!!! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU GO TO ANY IRGER OHINE SERVICE. There customer service is trash, they over charge and will sell you trash along with there additude!!!
