I'll start of by saying the sushi was pretty good, not really any complaints there. The egg rolls were a little lackluster but not bad. I'm not sure if it was just the server but when I walked in I stood there for a few minutes waiting to be seated, as I waited another person came in behind me. The server walked up and sat him right away as I'm literally standing there in front of her waiting. Then she eventually came back over and greeted me in a kind of confused way and asked if I was for here or to go and I said for here. She said sorry that she didn't see me which is confusing because I was in front of the other person behind me and literally one foot in front of her when she sat him. Okay, no big deal, it just took a few minutes. I sit and order, the food took probably 15-20 minutes or so to come out so a bit of a wait. I got my check, paid cash, and when she took the bill I asked for change back. 10 minutes or so go by before I get tired of waiting and just leave. Read moreI just ordered to go from there and Im really disappointed. Ive been to this place probably a dozen times, but this time my sushi tasted flat and wasn't prepared right. All three of the rolls I ordered were supposed to have spicy tuna and or spicy salmon, but instead it was just whole pieces of fish. The wasabi was barely spicy at (when it didnt seem right i tried just eating a bit by itself and it barely had any heat). The soy sauce even tasted odd (i know it wasnt me because inhad a bottle of kikkoman that i used instead and it tasted perfectly normal).
it seems like they're cutting corners now, which is annoying because its the most expensive sushi place in town. I think safeway might even have better tasting sushi (that's not a recommendation for safeway sushi btw, but it would be better than what i just had and 1/3 the price) i wont be going back. All I asked was for the server to take it away and than the manager lady just stood at the counter making the ugliest, least intimidating face at us. Before she stopped to stare at us, she said out loud that I brought the fly in with me. Why would I bring a fly in? Minus that, all food was great, nothing but good things to say. Until I saw the fly the soup was great. Servers did kinda ignore us and we were the only native people in the restaurant, the rest of the customers were white.
