I will never go to this shop again. "They" braid way too tight and agreed to do a certain size, and the end result was a lot bigger! But, the $160 charge did not change! Now to be fair, I was referred to this shop by a lady at my sis in law's church when I was asking around trying to find someone "professional " to do my daughter's hair THAT DIDN'T BRAID TOO TIGHT. I then asked the owner, phone number ending in 3313, if "they" braided tight. She said "no, we don't braid tight here." That was a lie. I hate tight braiding not only because of the discomfort for days, but mostly because of the damage to the edges. And not to be mean, but I should have known she was lying by looking at their edges. But never again. Also, she asked for and was texted a picture of the size I wanted and then I was given a hefty price. I figured that was a fair price for the size and because they provided the hair. . The picture showed a model with SMALL box braids...the braids on my daughter's head are big. I could sue her for that money because she was suppose to do my daughter's hair that size and gave me a price based on that picture. I thought that was how it worked, but not at this shop. Maybe it was my error in trusting her or the error was leaving and not being there to tell them no. I would have demanded that size or just said never mind and left. So to anyone reading this, learn from my mistake. It angers me now that I think of it. I just paid and could not wait to get out of there. But God knows, because it could have been very bad and I don't like being that way. I should have at least questioned why she was charging me the same price for bigger braids? But, I'm sure thst would have been some lie, rudely deliverered. If you are going there or have gone there and are happy, this review is not for you. It's a warning to those that don't want the standard, get-you-out-to-get-the-next-person-in braids, and/or if you don't want tight braids. My daughter has red , puckered skin around her edges. It makes no sense. Also, my daughter has taken French in school. She understood a little of what they were saying. She said another girl asked them to not braid too tight and they were laughing at how she said it and mocked here. And I'm sure they just said, yeah, uh huh, ok and continued on their edge damaging way. So, I hope this helps at least one person to seek out another shop, especially if you are looking to get someone else's hair done. Now to be fair again, the braids themselves are neat, BUT " they" do the type of braiding that uses a lot of hair on a little hair where it matters most, yes the edges! . So once this tight mess loosens, I will be removing some shortly thereafter because the hair will be to heavy for her hair around the edges. Also, the time wasn't impressive either, we got there at 1030 and she was done about 4pm. I say this because of the size and her having two ppl on her head,.......so that timeframe is nothing to get anyone rushing in for service, in my opinion. If I can include pics, I will. . I am now just looking for a natural hair stylist that is...
Read moreTerrible terrible terrible! I walked in to use their mirror and I asked a stylist "how much for individual braids?" She didn't even answer my question, she just told me to sit down in a chair and started braiding my hair. She picked my hair viciously and started braiding my hair back. by the second braid I realized she wasn't even doing what I wanted. I told her I wanted Individual braids that hang and not braids going back, but honestly I should have told her I didn't want anything..I JUST WANTED TO USE THE MIRROR. She then started braiding my hair individually and fyi- when someone wants individual braids, don't braid them towards the back of the head, braid each braid down so they can hang naturally until they wear down. This lady didn't know that and she had me looking crazy. There was no grease or anything once so ever used during this process. It's all honestly my fault because I should've told her to stop but I simply didn't want to be rude. I had $60 on me at the time and those nasty *ss braids were $40. I had to leave my stuff and go to the atm. The costumer service was terrible. The place itself is messy, and other customers were complaining while I was there. This is a...
Read moreI will never go here again. They had 3 different people braiding my hair at different times. The first lady started braiding my hair and wasn't adding hair to the end of the braid. I asked her to make the braids about the same size all the way down and she told me she couldn't but then started adding a bit of hair where my natural hair ends. That's what I wanted. The second young lady did fine. The third lady again tells me they can't add hair to the ends and after the hair is dipped they will be the same size. I know that's not true. This is not the first time I've had my hair braided. I told her that the first and second lady did and she got upset and stopped braiding my hair and told the owner. The owner said they couldn't when I told her the first and second lady did she told the third lady to just do it. She did on some and not others. The last couple of braids are the length of my own hair because she didn't want to open another pack of hair. Oh and by the way my braids are all different sizes. I only went to them because the lady that usually braids my hair (at a different shop) was unavailable and I'm going home (to the west coast) in a in a couple of days. I will never go...
