After reading lots of the reviews still gave them a chance. Been stopping through on and off for years not consistently.
Jan 4th, 2025, ordered Curry Red Snapper came with red beans and rice cabbage, plantains. Also ordered the jerk chicken pasta and had vegetables for additional $2.
The young lady at the counter will call her V was very helpful. She informed me that it would be approximately 30 minutes for the red snapper. Ordered a ginger beer which was like $3.50. I probably couldāve went to Publix and bought a whole bottle but that was OK since I had to wait anyway for the order to be Completed, which actually took approximately about an hour for everything to be prepared.
There was a long wait time period it seems as if everyone was waiting for their orders, even though called in once they arrived to the location, still had to wait for orders.
I guess the kitchen was running slow however they did seem to get people cleared out by the time I left.
When it comes to the customer service Iām not sure of the lady name will call her T light skin woman (been there for YEARS) she can appear to be very sharp when speaking to others and that may be the way she communicates with people not saying that is the correct way or giving her an excuse, but however, she was not mean to me at the time I did not have to interact with her too much. She was partial friendly.
Again call her V beautiful dark skin young lady who actually taken my order was nice. She helped me in deciding as to how I wanted my red snapper prepared in different ways so I thought that that was very helpful.
However, I had given her a $20 to pay for my ginger beer and she brought me back my change but she never bought me back my ginger beer so I had to ask her for that was absolutely no problem at all.
I think the thing for me was the hour wait time but again if I decide to ever go back and Iām ordering the red snapper or anything I will call ahead of time, however, hear it hard to get through., but I would definitely order in advance so hopefully once I get there, I can just easily pick up my order.
I have not tried the red snapper curry yet will on tomorrow. I started with the jerk chicken pasta. The chicken was seasoned very very well. For the vegetables that was added vegetables for two dollars. It really wasnāt a lot of vegetables and they were the frozen kind like the mixed peas and corn something to that nature not fresh veggies, but no problem but for two dollars I think I couldāve gotten a little bit more and they give you a lot of noodles. Iām not really a big noodle person, but I would just scoop through the noodles.
Some people were saying that the sauce was kind of liquidy it is, but I donāt fret over that because once it sits overnight, the noodles will absorb all of that liquid and that is going to help your noodles not to be dry and actually test better. However understanding your concerns.
My noodles were not overcook, but I say given 2.5 more seconds they would have been overcooked. I donāt like hard noodles, but I donāt like soft m my, soft noodles, but these noodles were OK.
A lot of red beans and rice as you can see most of the time I end up throwing it away, I would have liked a little bit more cabbage, but that was fine and very two small plantains but itās all good. The jerk pasta. It was not bad at all. Could use a little bit more seasoning.
Iām assuming like maybe when theyāre boiling their noodles or in the sauce could add a little bit more noodles.
The most seasoning that was in the dish was from the jerk chicken, which the jerk chicken is always the best the best the best however, really no major complaints.
Know the next time order in advance probably. Even if Iām out on the road just go ahead and just call it in if Iām at home itās gonna take me about 30 minutes to get to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIt hurts me to have to give a 2 star review for a restaurant with 5 star food. My overall experience here was HORRIBLE @ BEST... There were 3 attendants at the counter, of which, were having a wonderful convo among themselves, but when my husband and myself walked up to the counter the cashier went from a smile to a straight face and acted as if we bothered her by coming to purchase food from the restaurant. Note: you work in the hospitality industry, so the basics are to smile and greet your guest(I can teach you on the rest, but I would have to charge). My husband asked a simple question, "Do you have any plaintains available?" The attendant answered with a BAD attitude. Then. I witnessed during our wait for our food the staff totally ignored another customers question regarding why they hadn't answered the phone. The customer, of course, was upset because she tried to place a phone order and had to come in and was calling the restaurant at the same time. I heard that apparently this is a normal attitude from the employees and I can guarantee I won't be back due to the service... Food is awesome and if you don't mind spending your money in a place where the staff are extremely rude then this is the place for you. Restaurants are in our communities to provide service and I would hope they offer awesome Hospitality services. If that ball is dropped, then I would hope ppl would NOT take them their business... My advice to the owner is either retrain the front staff, or hire new ppl. I pay for both food and service; for some reason the front house staff here thinks otherwise, so as a result, I don't mind taking my business elsewhere...GREAT FOOD, BUT...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreFirst time eating at this restaurant. I am from the Caribbean and have a great understanding of my culture and how the food should taste and be prepared. This food was not good and I will not be returning due to following reasons; I ordered small oxtails and a small curry goat. 1). The oxtails had a sour taste which is very odd for oxtails. The curry goat tasted like curry powder. Way too much curry and no flavor. The plantains were extremely mushy...yuck! 2). The light skin lady behind the counter needs to work on her people skills and have a pleasing face. Instead of looking like she has cramps! Customer Service is so important for all businesses to thrive. Obviously itās not important for this restaurant. First she complained to another customer that she think she had food poisoning while slouching on the counter with a half eaten plate of food in front of her. Then she proceeded to answer the phone and yells to me turn off that beeper from making all that noise and the button is on the side! And went back to talking on the phone to her customer and had the audacity to state to the customer ā thatās what I was asking youā! So no, I will not be going back. I will not spend my hard earned money in restaurant that doesnāt place a value on customer service. Jamaican restaurants are like bus stops...thereās one at...
